I think it's entirely possible for him to receive the doc's in Juarez, but it would have to be through dhl or a similar courier and probably by overnighting it which could be expensive. Still, if you don't mind that it could be a very worthwhile option.

ONE thing I forgot to add in my essay of a consulate review was that I DHL'd some stuff to Juarez. It was my original birth certificate (they'll need that or original passport during the interview- careful cuz they took mine and haven't returned it so don't give em anything you'll need at the border.) and my and my co-sponsor's 134s with original signatures. I wasn't taking any chances either.

To send it I needed the address and phone number of the hotel and they wouldn't let me just send it to the DHL office for pickup like I originally intended. I got it in from CA early on a Thursday and the quickest they could get it there was the following Wed! That was their international "overnight" letter service. It also cost just about $50. It was crazy but I investigated every option and that was all I could do!

Robe did NOT need to be there to receive it luckily, as he was in his medical when it arrived.

They DID accept our scanned copy of the "packet 3" for the medical and interview though Robe said people were being turned away with low quality faxed copies.

Hmmmm, well at no point was I asked if I had the packet 3 except on the phone when I finally was able to schedule the interview. Maybe you can do it before hand... but you'd still need the invitation to get into your medical and most likely your interview as well. I've read that some people have made appointments in the past with the K-1 visas for various personal reasons even when the appointments were open. Here's a recent discussion with someone who made one a couple months back for next week.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/299809-help-please/

Also in this discussion they had put the petitioner's passport number to enter and it took it initially but was not correct. They want the beneficiary's passport number.

So we went ahead and filled out the DS-260 today and it is identical to the DS-160 except for a few minor questions. As someone pointed out earlier there was one question about the petitioner's relationship to the beneficiary and since there was no option for fiance we had to choose spouse. We finished and Robe signed it electronically and printed out a confirmation with number and barcode same as the other form. He's going to bring both to the fingerprint appointment and interview since it wasn't clear who wanted them, either.

Vamos a ver!!!

hello again maria:

one question regarding the petitioner's relationship to the beneficiary

so was it correct to choose spouse?

thank u very :(

Weird. They did not even ask for my birth certificate or I-134 form. They did ask for financial information but without the I-134.

I'm trying to fill out the DS-260 but I can't even get started because it asks for an Invoice ID Number and i have no idea what that is. It also asks for the NVC Case Number which I assume is the # that begins with CDJ, but I had never heard of an Invoice ID number. I searched it on the forums but whenever it's mentioned it's related to a CR1 process and not a K1. Could the INS Receipt Number be the same as the Invoice ID Number ?

hey carolina :)last week my fiance emailed to NVC and also call them, by both ways they gave him the Invoice ID number ( INS receipt they are the same) and yes CDJ number is the NVC case number, and also ask for the benefiaciary ID cos u will need it.

the email took like 2 days to be replied.

You have to call NVC, get an operator and ask for it.

I thought about trying the INS Receipt number where the Invoice ID number goes but it wouldn't fit by one digit. I also tried submitting it even without that last digit but it definitely didn't accept it so I hope they're not the same because then I wouldn't know how to get around that.

So I called the 703 # to ask, and the Invoice ID number is supposedly the same as the MRV fee receipt number. That still makes no sense since it asked for the DS-260 before making the payment online, but I was able to just skip over that part and make the payment, so we'll see.

This is how I scheduled the dates:

ASC appt: Jun 6

Medical: Jun 7

Consulate appt: Jun 9

As you can see, there's a day in between the medical and the consulate appt. This is because the the 8th is the second wednesday of the month which is a day that the consulate is closed. However, the medical clinics and the ASC do not close on those days... My question is, do you think it would be safe for me to do the ASC appt. on the 7th as well? I wanted to allow 24 hrs in between the ASC and the interview but I don't know if whatever processing of my fingerprints and all that is done at the ASC office or at the consulate. If I did everything at the ASC on the 7th would it get processed on time?

We considered doing the ASC and medical on the same day but decided against it. It turned out that my fiancé would have had time for both. The only tricky thing would have been that he had to pick up his medical information at 2 pm, the same time as his ASC appointment. We ended up doing medical on Monday and ASC on Tuesday and the interview on Wednesday.

We are crazy busy packing for our move to the States next week. (We live together in Mexico.) We'll write about our experience as soon as we can. Is there interest in having a version in Spanish? I know that it was difficult for us because my Spanish is much better than his English so I ended up translating a lot of what I read here. That added a lot of stress for me. I would have liked to have had information available in Spanish. Does anyone else feel that way?
