Hi All

I know I am probably being a bit dumb here, but I am a little confused about something needed for my CR-1/IR-1 interview on 15th March.

It says that I am supposed to take 2 US sized passport photos for me and my children, but on the interview appointment email (packet 4) it says that I dont need to take documents which have already been submitted to NVC, it has a document status list, and against Photos it says Y, which means 'The required document has been received'.

So...do I need to take another 2 passport photos along to the interview for me and my sons (which would be £36 to get them done again) or do the Embassy use the ones that were already submitted to NVC. It also says about taking original docs, and then says they have been received also. Why cant they spell it out for me lol??

Sorry if this is a silly question, I'm stressing!

USCIS

21.5.10 - NOA1

NVC

16.12.10 - All fees paid and everything received at NVC

17.1.11 - Medicals done

27.1.11 - My husband calls his senator's office and asks for help to get things moving.

01.2.11 - CC (Phoned DOS as NVC shut due to weather and they told me paperwork was completed at NVC on 1st Feb)

10.2.11 - Interview date assigned

15.3.11 - Interview - APPROVED!!!

I can never understand why 2"x2" photos can cost that much. I have always taken my own pictures cropped with Photoshop or other photo app, and printed them out on photo quality paper

Here is a handy site for cropping photos: http://www.epassportphoto.com/ You can upload pics here, and it will fix them into a 4x4 picture group correctly sized, that you can then download onto a SD card which you should be able to get printed at a photo store, or copy center.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Hey there, yes you absolutely DO need another 2 US sized passport photos for you and your children to take to the embassy.

I know, it seems ridiculous. I mean, how many passport photos do they need?! But we do what has to be done.

You can get them done at Goulds Pharmacy on the day, which is where you'll have to leave your phone etc if you have one with you, or in your local Snappy Snaps.

Like YuandDan said, there are some websites where you can upload a photo and crop it to the required size, but that depends on you have a decent printer and photo paper, which in my case would cost just as much as going into a shop and having them done..!

Hope all goes well for your interview

Thank you both so much. I had a look at epassportphotos, looks good but knowing my photography skills I will mess it up lol.

I think I will just have to pay up and get them done at the ridiculous price - another example of rip-off Britain, but better that than get knocked back at the interview for the sake of £36 quid.

Thanks for good wishes, same to you!

Don't they have a photo kiosk at the Embassy? How much does that cost to use, anyone know? (Not that it would be a good idea to rely on that working on the day of your interview!)

HI Angleheart,

I wanted to reply to your query yesterday only but thought I will wait till today and will reply after my interview is done.

I was in the same scenario and my photographs were already there so U DONT NEED ANY MORE PICS.................They already have all of your documents. So dont worry.....
