Look at the timelines on here - VSC is still processing from August and Sept, so I wouldn't stress yet that you haven't gotten NOA2

I wouldn't wait forever for Packet 3 from the Embassy -you can ask them to email it to you - JA mail is notorious for going MIA.

Very true about the Packet 3.. I emailed the Embassy several times and never got the information. They finally got tired of me emailing them and suggested that I email them the DS-230 form. Packet 4 finally arrived by mail. It's also odd that they would RFE you for the lack of a zipcode when they know JA doesn't use them like so many other countries.

Is that the same email they have listed for inquiries or is there another one?

You are probably good as well. If you are going to get a RFE it will be within the first month of processing, if you already received your NOA1 then the next time you will know is at the interview level.

Not really, I got a RFE after 6 months of waiting, because the person who did my paperwork didn't check the box on page 2, if i committed a crime yes or no, I responded over 30 days now and nothing yet.... still patiently waiting

I did not send a letter with intent to marry either. I am wondering what is going on with case. It's been 5 months and I havent recieved my NOA2 or and an RFE either. I am wondering if I am going to get an RFE or just my NOA2

No worries, I didn't send a letter of intent with my petition, I don't think it's required. However, I did send one to my fiance to bring to his interview and I had it notarized.

Hello everyone,

I am new on here but I have a concern. As I am reading all of the wonderful success stories, I am getting a little nervous. Everyone seems to have submitted a letter of intent to marry.

When I filled out my 1-129F I was never asked to submit this letter. Actually, the first time I heard about it was on here about a week ago. My status now is that the Consulate in Jamaica states that they sent my packet 3 to my fiance'.

Is this letter going to cause road blocks at this stage in the process?

thanks

You should be fine...I didn't include one with our 1-129 package but we had one ready for the interview and they still did not ask to see it. Just make sure your SO is prepared as much as possible at the interview with a copy...just in case. All the best!
