Hi.

My wife is applying for the Green Card (Permanent Residency) through marriage to me.

I am the American citizen. We have a newborn baby.

I am also going to be the sponsor.

How much money is the 125% of the poverty line for our family?

That's what I need to show as an income, right?

How much is the minimum I have to make to qualify as a sponsor?

Please, help.

Thanks.

Thank you.

And one more question.

Because we are a family of 3 I have to use the form i-864,

I cannot use the i-864EZ, right?

Poverty guidelines are here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

As for the EZ qn. No. You cannot use it. If you read the form instructions it states the requirements on page 1 include that the immigrant you're sponsoring is the ONLY person on your form.

What visa is your wife AOSing from?

What do you mean by "So I do qualify to be my friend's sponsor!" ??

You stated in your first post:

"My wife is applying for the Green Card (Permanent Residency) through marriage to me.

I am the American citizen. We have a newborn baby.

I am also going to be the sponsor."

Where does your friend come in? Your wife is applying for immigration benefit and you are the sponsor.

Oh, sorry.

The very top question was initially asked by my friend through my account.

If you look at my time line I am the American citizen and sponsored my wife to get the Green Card in 2009.

I am asking now about my friend, who also married a US citizen. His wife does not meet the requirements to become a sponsor.

So I was asking if I can be his sponsor too, and do I qualify?

Sorry I did not explain that well.

I read on other forums that I can be sponsor twice.

So please answer my above question if you can. Thanks again!

To avoid future confusion, your friend may wish to start his own account on Visa Journey. There is no charge and he can then sign in and get information specific to his needs without people thinking it is you who are asking the question. It is not a good idea for more than one person to use one account - even for husbands and wives - due to the possibility of confusion and misinformation. :)

To prevent further confusion, I am closing this thread. I have moved the posts asking for the information about co-sponsoring to the other thread started by the 'real' OP, as the 'friend' has received the answer to the original question.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
