Hi VJ friends and members!

I am here to seek your good advise. I am in a state of dilemma about my marriage. I came to the United States last year with K1 Visa and we got married immediately I arrived in the States. Things was going well between us till few days after our AOS interview, she told me that she is no longer interested in the marriage. I thought it was a joke until when she ask me to leave her house.

She orderd me to go back to my country, though we are not yet divorced. I have been living with her since I came to the States. I just got my GC and EAD cards and she does not want me to work. She refused to open a joint account with me, also she refused to put my name on other bills. Now I'm living with my country man that I just met and I just got a job. I called her two days ago that I will be sending her money to pay some of the bills but she refused.

Dear friends and members, what will I do to remove condition on my GC card in next two years. What are the consequences on my own side, will the immigration send me back to my country at the end of two years?

Has something like this happened to anyone before. Please help.

Obtain a divorce and remove conditions on your own, if you have proof that the marriage was entered into without fraud intent, then you should have no problem in removing conditions. Remember the burden of proof will be on you.

You would be better off divorced than in your current situation because you probably won't be able to prove a bonafide marriage while you might be able to prove a marriage in good faith. How long were you living together ( same address maybe not as man and wife ) and how long have you been with your fellow Nigerian ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I've moved this topic from the AOS from a family visa forum to the Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits forum as a better 'fit' for this discussion

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I lived with her for seven months and I have been with my fellow Nigerian man just a month.

Did you have an interview for AOS ? What evidence of bonafide relationship did you have then ? ?

Yes, we had an interview for AOS and the our IO only asked us present pictures to prove evidence of bonafide relationship, the IO collected the pictures and made some photo copies. That was only thing they asked us during the interview.

9ja, what did u do to her that made her to send you out of her house? How did it happen? Tell us the details. Meanwhile, sorry for this predicament.

To be frank with you, I did not offend her in anyway. she said she does not want any man in her life again. I happened to be the second man in her life. Her first husband abandoned her for another woman. She is very nice and good woman to be with but I do not know what came over her recently.

Do you know about any medical condition of her's. There could be a chance she is Bipolar...This knowledge might further help to show you did not use her for a visa.
