I received an RFE on my I 864, I had my father file one for my husband since I do not have a job, he filled out the I 864 and I didn't know that I had to fill one out too since I am the petitioner. I filled one out and sent it in stating zero income. I received a letter saying they have received it 02/10/2011 and then received a checklist 03/03/2011 saying that they are still waiting for the RFE for the I 864. It was confusing so I called the 3 days in a row and spoke to 4 different operators and each one told me something different. One said they need me to send in an I 864, another said they are reviewing my I-864, so I didn't know what to do so I filled another one out and sent it in today with the checklist e-mail that was sent to me 03/03/2010 to avoid any more RFE's. I live with my father and told the NVC operator that, and asked him if I should have my dad fill out an I-864A instead of the I-864 since we have the same address and he is a household member. He told me that my dad's I-864 was already approved and it didn't matter if he files an I-864 or an I-864A, hopefully this will not encounter another RFE.

Today when I sent in the new I-864 I totally forgot to write my NVC case number on the top right hand corner of each page. I was wondering if anyone has sent in an I-864 without writing their case number on each page, and if they encountered any problems or RFE's for that mistake? Will they accept the I-864 without writing the NVC case number on the top right hand corner of each page? I am so tired of RFE and checklists, and this paper is the only paper that needs to be accepted before I am done with my long road at the NVC. Anyone have a similar experience?

Is your case number on anything in the packet or on the mailer? Or did you not write it or not have it on any of the papers in the packet you sent?

Oh yes I sent in the barcode sheet with my NVC case number and wrote the NVC case number on other pages (supporting documents) just not on the 8 pages of the I-864 application. I was reading other peoples posts and it say "you should write your NVC case number on the top right hand corner on all package papers even the I-864" so thats what made me wonder and ask.
