Hey!

I got a letter in the mail a few days ago, saying I have an appointment in Charleston, WV to have my Biometrics done. I was wondering what that all includes. Did I do something wrong? My husband thinks it's just fingerprints and pictures being done. Also, it only took a week and a bit for me to get that letter (since I sent all the forms in). How soon should it be now until I can legally work? I filed the appropriate I-765 Form.

If I have any more questions, I'll ask. Thanks in advance!!

Firstly some application support centers operate faster than others. Biometrics is just A picture taken, fingerprints, and signature for the Green-card and EAD card.

EAD can take 90 days after filing I-765, can only work after you get EAD card.

Its just for your fingerprinting and mug shot to be taken again for your EAD card. Once Bio is done you usually get EAD card within 2-3 weeks after that. You can work once you get your EAD. If you read the instructions on your receipt letter it would have told you to expect a BIO letter appointment.

Hey! Thanks for the answers!

Just a quick question, how long does a biometric appointment take? It doesn't matter to me, I'm just asking out of curiosity's sake!

Thanks!!

15 min, no more than 1 hour if there are people waiting.
