POE in Montreal or LA?

Hi all,

This may be a dumb question, I'm flying to LA from Montreal next Saturday at 8 AM and I wondered if my POE would be processed here in Montreal or in LA? I'm flying direct.

I need to get there 3 hours early because I'm flying with animals, I'd hate to have to get to the airport at 4 AM in order to go through immigration in Mtl as well...

Anyone know how long the process takes if this is the case?

Will be Montreal. I'm sure u have already contacted the airline about ur animals, as in correct size cages, only so many animals per plane,etc.etc!! Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks, Flames. And, yup, how to properly get the cats down via plane was one of the first things I made sure of we started the immigration process. I told my hubby, "it's a package deal: me + the cats or nothing!" :lol:

Just making sure. Some do not bother to contact the airlines to find out the rules! Were soon moving and thats the first thing we did. Each airline differs. Have a good move

Yeah, your POE will be in Montreal... I remember getting to the airport real early because I didn't know how long it would take at secondary, and the thing is that customs only open at like 6am-6:30am... Gosh I was so nervous thinking I wouldn't have enough time. I think I was an hour in secondary... Get there early!
