I will most certainly do so! My first events are at the Mellon Auditorium (some NBA player for the Wizards is getting married), Evermay (another wedding, and apparently uber-chic wedding site), Library of Congress, and the NATIONAL ZOO for a picnic!! I'm pretty excited (if you couldn't tell)

Oooooh, Evermay! Great house in Georgetown. Used to work near there at Tudor Place Historic House and drool every time I went past. The garage is bigger than my home! I believe it's still a private residence and the owner rents out when he is not around. Serious $$$. Needless to say, it was not on Derek and my short list for reception sites

The National Zoo sounds like fun too and the NBA wedding could be a trip - enjoy!

Do the cheap bastards pay you enough so you can go buy your own lunch?

We don't actually get a lunch hour...

Is that legal?

for every 4 hrs you get 15min break... if there for 8 hrs working... you are entitled to 1 hr lunch.

You can thank the unions for that. ;)

That we would get some halfway decent lunches. Sooo not the case. Normally I can't identify what we are served so I don't eat. Today, we got hamburgers. Well, sort of. Little tiny not thoroughly cooked meat hunks in an aluminum pan. No buns, no cheese, no condiments (some lovely soul went and found some ketchup) leaving me with this as my lunch:

OMG Heina that sounds horrible where in the world are you working?

for every 4 hrs you get 15min break... if there for 8 hrs working... you are entitled to 1 hr lunch. so.. work them just 7hrs 45mins (just shy of 2nd 4hr limit) and BAM! only 1 break n no lunches needed to be given!

corporate america... only legal way to rape the common ppl.

We recently had a discussion about this at work. We don't get lunch breaks, or any breaks for that matter and rarely have a break to pee. A gal I work with called the labor wage place (don't know the technical name for it) and they said since we work for a pribate company, they can basically set the rules.
