the 1-864 is good,a family of two is 18,213.00--for three is 22,888---for 4 is 27,563..it's 4,680 for each additional member of family.

It's actually 27'937 for 4 (ie poster, wife and two kids), it has gone up slightly for 2011.

Hi veryone.

please help.

I am preparing to file an AOS for my wife IR1 and my two kids IR2 they are under 4 years.which I-864 should I file for them.and how much income should be enough for them.

One I-864 for each of them, so three total. There are many common errors in completing these forms. Most of them occur because we trust our common sense and intuition instead of following the instructions. The most common mistake is to count your spouse twice. The second is to list the other immigrants in the section that asks about family members immigrating at the same time. If you do, you will have ignored this little tidbit. "Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition."

So for your spouse's affidavit enter 0 for 21c but enter 1 in the same place for each of the children's affidavits. Don't count the children twice on the children's affidavits, if there are only two children enter 1 in section 21d on the children's affidavits because the other child is already being counted as the immigrant. Count both children on your spouse's affidavit but again, don't say you're sponsoring other immigrants because, "Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition."

I have reading some topics. IS I 864W for IR2?

Only if they are your natural or adopted children who would be eligible for US Citizenship upon arrival. For step children, follow the instructions I gave you.

Ok, now I'm confused. Are you the foreigner or the US Citizen? If you are the US citizen and they are your natural children, then are they eligible for US citizenship upon arrival? If so, use the I-864W. If you are the US Citizen and these are your step children, then use the I-864. What are the ACTUAL circumstances here?

Natural children means you are the biological parent. Step children means they are your wife's children but YOU are NOT the biological father.

Are you the BIOLOGICAL father of these children?

Have you been told the children are eligible for US Citizenship upon their arrival? The only IR2 beneficiaries that file the I-864W are the ones eligible for citizenship upon arrival.
