I received my permanent 10 year resident card in June of 2008 .I never had 2 year card . Do I have to apply for Removing Condition ???

--Jan 13,2006 Entered USA as Visitor (B2) ( I-94 is valid till end of June,2006)

--March 28,2006 Married in Naperville ,Illinois to United States Citizen

--April 5, 2006 Medical examination (I 693)+ Vaccination supplement form completed (chicago)

--April, 18,2006 AOS Package(I 130,I 485, I765)+supporting documents sent (chicago Lock Box)(DAY 1)

--May 1, 2006 BIOMETRIC APPOINTMENTS ( I 765 , I 485) received by mail for May 6, 2006

--May 6, 2006 BIOMETRICS TAKEN BY USCIS in Naperville (Day 19)

--July 21,2006 Initial Interview but waiting for FBI NAME CLEARANCE (Day 92)

--April 25, 2009 Infopass appointment to inquire my case : Result case was approved in June of 2008 but no body bothered to update my file (Day almost 610 )

--June 29 ,2009 10 year green card with date of Perm resident June 2008 received (Day almost 680 since interview )

--July 2011 Citizenship Interview :

No, 2 year GC's are for 'Conditional Permanent Residents', since you already have a 10 year GC, you don't need to apply for ROC

u should have gotten a 2 year green card first, and then a 10 year one...i would suggest call the USCIS and ask them whats going on...

According to your timeline your were approved more than 2 years after your wedding so that's the reason you directly got a 10 year GC and not the conditional one.

You do not need to remove conditions as there are no "condition" to remove on your GC.

If you already have a 10 year GC (I am guessing you checked the expiry date), there is no need to apply for ROC, even if you do, your package will be returned to you.

Sorry but this is incorrect.

A 2-year green card is only given in cases where the USC and spouse have been married less than 2 years at the time of the green card's issue.

According to your signature you were married in March 2006 and the GC was issued in June 2008. Therefore you had already been married over 2 years when your green card was issued, so you received a standard 10 year green card. Removing of conditions is not required, because you had already met the 'condition' of being married for over 2 years.

Relax and enjoy your time together, you're done with USCIS for a while :)

thats not true..everybody gets a 2 year one first,thats why its called conditional why would u get a 10 year one...many people wait for years for a 2 year GC..call USCIS and make sure everything is fine..better safe than sorry

Sorry no IR-1 is an automatic 10 yr green card on entry. Not everyone gets the 2yr card first. The other poster is correct in what they said about being married more than 2 years and getting a 10yr card.

Lots of people who apply for a CR-1 and are close to the second wedding anniversary when they get their visa are advised to wait a couple of days and then enter so they will be issued a 10 yr card instead of a 2yr card.
