Hey Looky... this is fantastic news!!

So happy for you (F)

BTW... September is sooooooooon !!

Thanks Andie, I knew it was going to get there just didn't expect it so soon! The next step is the important one. The consulate should have it by the end of the week. I have already had her collect the documents she will need for the interview, and I am filling out the forms for her. Now just waiting for the consulate to send us the instructions so we can reply and get the interview date and do the medical.

The interview itself should be a breeze and then when she gets the Visa I'll go over there and help her and the dog fly to the US!!!

Oh but what about you, it seems you are in limbo? We still have 30 or so March filers on Igors list but it seems many of them have either given up or just didn't update. I really expected you to be among us that have NOA2 already. Its very unfortunate that it didn't happen that way. :((F)

Wow, it might be worth getting a taxi when you're close and if you get too tight on time, just a thought. Luckily its just the medical, maybe it'll be a good idea to find out where the consulate is afterward. Good luck!

My file has been with the embassy since lask two weeks now, here is my question. Can I get my police clearance down even before I receive packet 3? You prompt answer will be really appreciated.

Thanks All in advance.

of course you can. a police certificate is valid for 6 months. i got mine this week they gave it to me right after i applied. i didnt need to wait for it at all, i hope is the same in your country.

Looky i already thought about that. when i get out of the buss ill take a cab right away. the consulate is way easier to find since i know the area. google maps is a life saver X_X

Sounds like you will get there with plenty of time to spare DeeDee. No sweat with the medical. You'ld have to have some serious disease to fail it! Enjoy! :)

Lou/Rob--An enormous congratulations to you both on Visa Approval! Hurray!!!:dance::dance:Two thumbs up!:thumbs: (And thank you for the best goodluck wishes)

DeeDee--Yup, understand about being in new place. However, even if vicariously, we of the March 2011 Filers will be with you and cheering you on! BTW, totally agree about google maps!!

Thea--Very, very glad to hear your case forwarded to the embassy!

Looky--And very glad to hear your case got out the NVC door already as well! Ha! I know the feeling of surprise. I called NVC on a whim not really expecting any info for a month but was nearly bowled over in shock when I was told the case had been forwarded two days before my call!!! I was so surprised I nearly hung up the phone before getting the case number! Fortunately, the NVC rep had her act together and made sure I had all the info I needed--and even gave some nice words of congratulation. --RK

Everyone--Wishing to hear more good news and wishing continuing good progress for all. --RK & Inday

As far as I know, in my own experience, the US does not quarantine animals. I took both of my dogs to The Netherlands when I lived there, brought them back and forth a few times over 2.5 years and when I moved back it was not a problem. You do need to have documentation of their current rabies vaccination. I would highly advise getting your dog micro-chipped, if not already. I had a letter from my vet in Holland stating that both of my dogs were healthy and able to fly. They actually each had Dutch Dog Passports lol. Really very handy because all of their vaccinations/dewormings, etc. was recorded in them. :) I believe that the only place in the US that quarantines is Hawaii, they're an island.
