The beneficiary yes, idk how it works there but she/her may get the packet 3, which gives you the forms and states what documents are needed and he/she forward it back to the consulate, then once they receive it you'll know your interview date (this could be called the packet 4). If in the beneficiary's country they don't send the packet 3, only the packet 4, they'll let you know by mail/email what's your interview date and you bring all the forms and docs to the consulate, in the day of your interview. Ah don't forget the medical and fee :) (anyone corrects me if I'm wrong ok? )

You should keep calling NVC and DOS, to try to track what's going on with your petition, they're talking a while to give any answer but don't give up, keep bugging them :P I'm also waiting, but I'll only get the packet 4, which makes the process a little faster, depending on the country... I might only get an interview for mid. September... but oh well, as long as my honey comes to see me and go with me for the interview, I'll be ok :) Good luck!

By the way, Great News RichardShane! you're getting closer and closer, make sure to send everything correctly and you'll be fine for the interview :)

Man it's hot here... set a record today with temps feeling like 116.6 degrees F (47C). It's still pretty darn hot, only a few degrees cooler and I have no air conditioner, and only a few windows open up. I plan to go find a breeze somewhere where there's lots of shade!

We had a post on Facebook today, one of our March filers had their visa approved at their interview today, not sure of the VJ name, but dont' see that they've been on this thread yet to share, but awesome news!!

We still have loads of you still waiting for NOA2, not sure how many haven't been on to log in and update and might have gotten it, but hopefully things keep moving steadily.

I'm hoping the NVC starts to pick up, it's currently about 30 days out for CSC filers, we don't plan on even looking for it for a little while yet.

Hope you're all keeping cool, and braiding your hair still, believe me, it works!

Hey guys... happy for all of you that things are moving...

You may have read my fiance's post about our situation... basically a disaster!

We have been denied without RFE - we haven't had the letter yet so don't know the full details but probably because though we sent the initial petition with some of the supporting docs... some had been inadvertently left out(still don't know how this happened). We sent those as soon as we had the NOA1 reference # so it would hopefully connect with our original packet. Some people have had success with this. Anyway long story short it doesn't seem to have done so and my daughter ages out next month. She can't stay here in NZ on her own for any extended time so our options are very limited. Just thought I should let you know that our file has had a response but it wasn't the one we wanted. We have very few petitions from here in NZ so the embassy and medical could have been done very quickly. Now with NVC slowing up.. yes, it would have come down to days or even hours but it was possible. Anyway I'll keep looking in on you guys to see how you are doing... (it has become something of a habit).

So go and show them how its done!! and I'll be looking for more approvals...

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
I-129F Sent : Jul 28 2014

What devastating news for you. :( I hope there's some other way you can all be together without waiting endlessly?

I was posting this from the VJ wiki, it's for CR1 filers, but this part pertains as well to us as anyone for the NVC wait:

At NVC / The Guide to Flying through NVC

This section will help you understand timing and terms of the NVC process

1. NOA2 - Petition(s) Approved Notice(s) from USCIS.

You find out from USCIS that your "Petition was Approved".

If you didn’t get all the paperwork required for AOS and IV, NOW is the time. Especially PCC (Police Clearance Certificate), Birth Certificates and Tax info, as well as any other info needed for I-864.

Hang on…NVC knows NOTHING about your case yet.

2. USCIS Sends Package to NVC

NVC should receive your package within a few days, but it could take longer.

You won't know your package is there until you call NVC (see step 4)

3. NVC Scans Package.

This marries the USCIS receipt number to your newly generated NVC number. NVC case number is in the following format:

EEEYYYYDDDSSS

EEE = 3-digit embassy code (e.g. TKY for Tokyo Embassy.)

YYYY = 4-digit year (e.g. 2008.)

DDD = 3-digit day number in a year plus 500 (e.g. 28-AUG-2008 is the 241th day of the year + 500 = 741.)

SSS = 3-digit sequence number of the day (e.g. second scanned document on 28-AUG-2008 is 002.)

So, the second case scanned by NVC on August 28, 2008 for a beneficiary under Tokyo embassy jurisdiction will be TKY2008741002.

4. Getting your NVC number.

Call NVC at 1 (603) 334-0700. Put this number on speed dial…it’s often busy, and you’ll use it a LOT.

Once your package has been scanned, it COULD update into the AVR (automated voice response system).

If it is uploaded to the AVR, you will be able to retrieve it with your CIS Case Receipt Number.

If is scanned but not in the AVR, an operator can tell you the NVC number.

Just because you have an NVC number doesn't mean you can do anything with regard to fees or applications. Do not jump the gun. Read through this entire document before sending any forms or fees.

Regarding the AVR, it is NOT reliable (we've seen some cases being completed without the AVR ever updating their case).

If it's been longer than 2 weeks and you still don't have your NVC case number, start sending up flares.

Call NVC and talk to a supervisor. Be prepared to send them a copy of your NOA2.

Once your case number has been assigned call back and speak to an operator. Give them an e-mail address for you and for your spouse. From then on NVC will e-mail you any correspondence.

5. Case info is manually loaded into system.

Even though you have an NVC number, your case information still needs to be manually input before anything else can happen.

Until such time that documents are fully loaded in, NVC will not generate or accept DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) via email or US Postal Mail.

When your case has been manually input, the DS-3032 and AOS (Affidavit of Support) fee bills will be generated.

Also, when the AOS fee bill is generated, your IIN (Invoice Identification Number) is created.

Note - it may be possible that your IIN is created when your NVC number is created...THIS is the time to begin the quest for the IIN, but when requesting, ask for Invoice ID Number, not "IIN".

Try hard; every second of your life…having your IIN will save you weeks in the process.

Your case could be input immediately or could take weeks. Remember these words "Maybe tomorrow, maybe in 4 to 6 weeks, there is no pattern".

Oh no Andie thats terrible news! Are you sure that your girl will age out, is there no way to extend the age limit on the count of extenuating circumstances or something? Would the age limit be different if he filed the I-130 for you if you got married? I mean what if in this letter they give you some option to resubmit new evidence. I mean what will you do? What you are saying is that you have to stay with your girl but then where does that leave you and your man? I don't know this sounds like a terrible situation, I hope the best for you and hope you will find some way out. Best wishes to you! (F)

Yes Looky, we are devastated. Everything seemed to be going so well and approvals for our NOA1 date were coming through. I had all the paperwork for the rest of the process in hand and had contacted everyone to see what was possible in terms of completing the process. I had visions of us running for the plane that would get us there just in time to land on US soil. As far as I know the child option isn't possible on an I-130 so we decided to do it this way. Maybe they will give us the option to resubmit new evidence but I don't think they can freeze the aging out. As for the future, we are trying to figure it out. We met as little kids at school in NZ. He went travelling at the age of 17 and ended up back in the US. By coincidence we met up online in 2009 and spent most of 2010 together, and didn't know about the lengthy process involved or we would have done the K1/K2 sooner. Thanks for your kind words Looky ... we will keep on with our journey in some form.. just need a plan.

Yes Looky, we are devastated. Everything seemed to be going so well and approvals for our NOA1 date were coming through. I checked the VJ NZ embassy info. It says that they will do Direct Consular Filing for US Citizens and they don't have to be legal residents. That means you can file the I-130 directly with the consulate which means you skip over USCIS. If that might work with your plans, then look into it. Good luck Andie.
