Thea--Yes, that is understood well. The confusion is that the Manila embassy seals the passport inside the package also but access to passport is needed prior to travel, prior to boarding plane in Philippines. Package instructions say "open package to get passport" but also says "do not open package." I emailed the Manila embassy asking for clarification which they did. They explained what they meant is that it is OK to open the outer seal with the passport only but NOT to open any of the other paperwork which is also sealed. In the VJ Philippines forum, when I asked, other VJ members described running into this confusing situation from Manila embassy upon receiving their passport/visa but also confirming what embassy wrote back to me. All is a bit more clear now. (It would have helped if the embassy explained more clearly initially.)

BTW, I have been remembering all this past week that your interview is on Thursday (tomorrow!!). It has been an extremely long road for you, I know, and I am sending prayers, good wishes, and all the positive energy I can muster your way for a successful interview. We all be in eager anticipation of hearing some very good news from you soon!!

Hahaha, yes, freaking out, I have everything ready, and am even considering packing up right now! Still have several hours left in Montreal before I sleep, and who knows how much I'll sleep???

There is nothing simple and straight forward about this process, case in point above. I just play along like a little sheep and follow directions as much as I can, what more can you do? I even have another set of passport photos to go with me, even though when you submit the packet 4 here, you can include them there (and I did) it tells you you don't need them at the interview, but then the interview checklist says you need them. I figure better be safe than sorry, and have yet another set of pictures to go with us tomorrow! I may have just wasted 45$ but oh, well, I do follow directions!

I know I have gone over everything for the interview. I know that we can fulfil all their requirements. I know this. There is no possible reason for me to go to AP or get an outright no. But that doesn't stop you from worrying does it? I can't wait for this to be done with so that my life can be back in my own hands again....

Thea--Your strategy is a good one. Inday overprepared for her interview also, which I agreed with and which cost some more $ (uh, more Philippine pesos, actually) in extra photos, copies, document organizers, and other items. However, what's a few bills/coins more and a bit extra time spent preparation really compared to a lifetime? "Better safe than sorry" is indeed a good attitude/approach. And, yup, even being extra prepared one still does wonder/worry. I do hope you are able to get some sleep. (What time is your appointment scheduled for, if you don't mind me askking?) I did not need any of the supporting documents that I brought along, or the extra photos, but yes, better safe than sorry!

As for me, we received an email today saying that Sebastian's passport is ready to pick up! So I'll be sending mine with a copy of his tomorrow right after I get his passport. sooo exciting :dance: :dance: :dance:

Wow !! This is great! I was trying to wish you luck before the interview but lost track of the date (since I am a day ahead in NZ - it gets confusing - and I haven't been on VJ much lately)

Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
