Filed at the end of November 2010, had interview today and was approved. Our interview was in Albany, NY and lasted about 30 mins. Most of the time was spent looking over paperwork for completeness. The interviewer noticed that our son's medical wasn't in the pack, not the vaccination records, those were there; but the medical documentation that they took from her at POE. Our only option if they can't locate it, will be for him to take another medical; not the end of world, but an inconvenience none-the-less. My wife's and daughter's were there, so they were good to go.

The only question he asked was to briefly tell how we met each other and when we decide to get married. We had a binder full of stuff, but all he wanted to see and keep was anything that showed we lived together and co-mingled our lives and finances. We gave him our join bank statements and health insurance plans as that was all we had with both our names on it and a bunch of photos, including the ultrasound of our new pregnancy and that was that. Approved, green card should arrive in ten days, have two years conditional.

Very professional, quick and painless; if it wasn't for the misplaced medical it would have been perfect. It may still be if they find it.

I know the question of when to file for AOS comes up often. We filed about 1 week before her medical would have expired (one year), without issues. This is not to be used as advice, just another data point to consider, when the topic of how soon or how late to file for AOS is asked.

Thanks for the congrats. We actually received a call from the interviewer telling us that he located my son's misplaced medical. So that's it, everyone is golden now. Good luck everyone.
