This post is mostly for people who have alreday had there AOS interveiw.......

I was in the off topic forum, posting in a "heated" thread about middle east politics......... when one poster (who shall remain nameless)......... said that at my USCIS interveiw I would be asked whether I supported Israel or not.......... he said they *always* ask that?!!!

can someone clear this up for me, surely political questions like these have no place in an AOS interveiw??

No, not even remotely asked anything like that. All questions were either the same ones on the submitted I-485 or about our relationship.

They didn't tell you you would be asked about it, they said you should profess it, there's a difference.

Having just had my interview, I can safely say that my IO didn't ask any political questions.

Yep they definitely dont ask. I am sure it would be illegal. Unless they ask you about your spouse's politial views and vice versa to verify relationship (i have neverer seen that happened).

But it might be a damn good idea to start doing that.

Would keep all whineys liberals, fags, pussies and effeminate males back in europe.

You are wording the question wrong. Look at the questions on the I-485. They ask these at the interview. Part 3 of the application.

leave off-topic in off-topic. Let it go.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Paul C,

It could conceivably have a place, but probably not the place that you and others are thinking of. Such a provocative question would not be routine, let alone be asked "always".

Interviewers can ask anything they want to ask to get information they think they need or to explore areas they have become concerned about. When they do feel the need to probe it often isn't the answers to the questions that they're concerned about - it's the person's reactions to the questions.

Excellent answer! There is so much anxiety surrounding the interview process and so much misinformation.

Thanks for the voice of reason Yodrak

Thanks for clearing that up, the poster who told me about this talks a lot of bullsh*t........

just wanted to be sure

Paul C - I think you misunderstood the poster. USCIS officers always ask if you

support (or are affiliated with) any terrorist groups. They are not going to ask

you questions about Israel, because Israel is not an FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organization)

as per Section 219 of the INA.
