My blood was boiling when reading the article. What is wrong with Saudi?. Charge the maid for self defense?. What about those killed, unpaid, raped, tortured, maids? What they doing to the employers?.

They using Syariah Islam law, so they know it is forbidden for woman to come for a certain distance destination to travel alone, moreover for working. Then why they keep take advantage of the poverty of another Moslem?. Why they keep receiving their service? Why dont they only allow woman with mahram to come and work over there?.

hey

very short article with lack of details explained ..but anyways you have to understand "Arabs" in order to criticize them...and most people would jump to blame "Muslims" which is unfair... because its mostly people being just themselves it cant be their religion (Islam) unless you have strong evidence to say so. Its just the way some people are..in Saudia a lot of racist goes around against brown colored people..reason being ..in my opinion because they choose not to follow Islamic conduct on their daily lives etc etc.. so they don't care

:ot2: hopefully she gets help..and these type of problems happen not just with "Saudis" but also in Bangladesh..Pakistan ..India you get the point ....if the maid says she was gonna be raped then hopefully she receives justice ...and if she just makes it up for some personal reason then you guys decide... :hehe:

p.s ..My blood also boils when I read such information's.n read a lot of women trafficking in Indonesia poor women gets raped sold etc etc..all over the world.

I have personal experience of Saudi and I hate the place with a passion.

I went to work there and my wife was hospitalized back in England

My employer refused me an exit visa. He said "It's only a woman". Exit visas are issued by your employer, not the government

I refused to work.

They said once I had run out of money, I would be put in a cage in the public square for vagrancy - and I would be fed slops in a bucket once a day. An English woman was already receiving that treatment.

I lived on bananas for 6 weeks

Eventually I paid them a ransom and then I had to pay to put my photo in the paper for a week to see if anyone wanted to claim off me for anything

After much more delay, I was called into the bosses offices and told to lay on the floor and kiss his feet - after that I would be given the visa

I refused and told him to just kill me now

I got out a week later

My employer was the GOVERNMENT of Saudi Arabia - the Saudi National Flour Milling corporation

The British Embassy would not help. Now I am an American, I can guarantee the US Government would not help either

OIL !

I hope the people of Saudi string the whole rotten crew up

That is a pretty callous thing to say

Its easy to say "Let it go" and " No big deal" when it isn't you that is being violated

You should never apply to be a rape victim counsellor that's for sure - you would probably give em $10 for a taxi and tell em to stop whining and get over it

Agreed. It's surprising to see the post on this thread from people that weren't in your situation that . It tells us all just how much they care about their spouse.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Yes there are a number of posters on here who reveal their inexperience of life by their callousness

Soldiers who have been through bad situations are invariably more aware of human suffering than those who are new recruits. The new ones are brash and uncaring and full of bravado and hard attitudes. These attitudes quickly disappear in the face of real situations of horror.

The young ones believe that people are hardened by their experiences - in fact the opposite is true and they are made more aware of cruel realties as they gather more experience of what these situations are like

The Saudis are medieval in their cruel attitudes. I got off lucky compared to many.

The family in the next apartment (Americans), took their kids for a drive to the mountains - as they entered a village square, a man was kneeled and beheaded in front of them.

The young woman with whom he had been having an affair, was later stoned to death

The experience of seeing that would scar those kids for life.

The father of the kids told me about it personally on the same day this happened and he was pretty shaken up

What a horrible experience, Alan the Red. I had no idea that foreign nationals in Saudi Arabia had to have permission to leave the Kingdom.

The experiences you relate remind me of what some people would do here in America to their own citizens as well as foreigners not here legally.

Why trivialize this mans experience by that statement ? Are you even for real ?

Why would I trivialize them?

I believe I expressed sympathy to his rage.

You mean the experiences themselves? Why would calling out psychos hiding their psychoses behind online personas be trivializing anything? Word choice... word choice...
