Hi all,

Do any of you fellow VJ'ers have any experience or knowledge about the advisability or not of quitting current job (of 10+ years) and starting a new job? I wouldn't quit one without the other lined up and ready to go, btw. Ideally, I'd be quitting one and starting up the other next day. And let's say both jobs kept me above the poverty line according to VJ. What do you all believe about how important it is to keep the established job during this time? (I'm just daydreaming about giving my 2 weeks' notice someday soon. I am SO ready to move on from my present job! Nothing waiting in the wings for me yet, but it's nice to dream)

Thank you everyone.

That's more relevant to how the financials are viewed by your consulate than anything else.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

I don't think they'd give you a hard time about it. Being with a job for 10+ years shows that you're pretty stable. If anything, I'd just have HR at your new job draft a letter stating that you are a permanent employee, and what your yearly gross income will be. You should be fine. Good luck :)

Thanks Rebecca Jo and Squeaky. Yeah, I was having my fun dreaming of giving my 2 weeks notice one of these days, but then thought WAIT A MINUTE - what if my satisfaction of slamming the door behind me at Job #1 destroys my chances of getting our Visa?! It's something to think about! Thanks again ladies :)
