Umm.. Isn't it two? Separate checks for I-130 and I-485, I don't think you can combine those. The I-130 check is for $420, and the I-485 check is for $985 for Filing fee and $85 biometrics fee. Those you can combine, meaning..

I-130: Check for $420

I-485: Check for $1,070 (filing fee and biometrics)

well it's being filled together ; concurrently why not? Unless someone else will jump on this question. BUT most will pay he/she should send in two different payments because it's two different applications BUT if you write what the check is for in the provided section on the check then what is to be questioned..?

All in ALL one check can be submitted end of story/issue.

I plan to make payment with one check for $420 and another for $1070 simply because although concurrent I am pretty sure I have read some posts about their package being rejected for one check combined whereas I have not read of a package being rejected for two checks.

MAke it easy for the person who will be dealing with your application with 2 separate checks.

Not sure if one would be accepted, so make it two separate checks for each application. (Trust us, we actually filed these forms! lol)

Guess that is why I am here. One check WILL be accepted. Since you're NOT sure I'm here to tell you and everyone else - yes it will be accepted. The poster just needs to make sure ALL the applications are completely filled out which is the EXPECTATION/S set-fourth by USCIS.

Do you have proof of this? I remember looking it over and that the checks are meant to be separate. I do not have time to comb through the instructions (nor do I care to) hence the qualification. Have you actually filed a concurrent application?

definitely have proof. .. it's simple. Any by the way those who pay using 2 checks/money order are those who are just insecure with the work/case they are about to submit. Knowledge is the key to an approved case. Even thou you don't care and a quick answer might have been given I gave the person the proper answer 8 hours ago and here to validate once more.

Fees

  • Read the form instructions for complete payment details.
  • We suggest that you use a separate check or money order for each application in the package and biometric fees. If a single check is submitted for multiple applications and one of the applications must be rejected, then all applications will be rejected. The Lockbox can not accept overpayment and make partial refunds.

I really think your tone is too hostile. If you have proof to back up your claim, by all means enlighten us, but no need to give advice on how to be successful or make rude comments about our reading comprehension abilities.

From what you quote, it seems two checks are better, particularly this part.

"We suggest that you use a separate check or money order for each application in the package and biometric fees"

although it is a suggestion, not a mandate.

This is the only issue I have with your answer. Everything else is fine, but really, there is no reason to conclude folks that pay with two checks are "insecure".

USCIS makes a great suggestion to pay with separate checks just in case they find an issue with one of the forms.

well - then payment withone check and knowing there will not be an problem should be the thought. (just an answer here not to you)

If the payment is correct forms are FILLED out correctly then there will not be a problem.

That is a negative. I am far from insecure. Do you know how many hours I have put into getting everything "just right"? Multiply your 8 hours by about 100 and thats an approximate. Don't assume anything about why people do what they do. I could just as easily say that you are arrogant and boorish but that would be unfair. :innocent:

Don't overstep the mark.

We are here to help not to be patronizing to fellow members. You need to take a long hard drink of takeiteasyandbecool.

Insecure? My eye.
