A good explanation of distribution of wealth.

http://newsjunkiepos...ssive-taxation/

It's only redistribution when you take it away from those that have, and give to those that don't. I swear, liberals spend more time reinventing the language, than thinking through their crazy schemes.

All wealth is created by labor, by working men and women who actually build and maintain things.

If you believe that, then you are a Communist.

That's ironic because the term 'redistribution of wealth' was created out of thin air by Libertarians who see taxation as theft. Progressive taxation in this country has existed long before that term was coined.

If you believe that, then you are a Communist.

And just who is reinventing language? Just because Karl Marx spoke in favor of labor, doesn't mean he gets to take ownership of the logic that labor creates wealth. If labor is not part of the equation of wealth creation, what is it? You are businessman and provide a service (labor) that creates the wealth you live from. If you have any subordinates handling the same type of service you provide, they are also creating wealth. If you choose to pay them a pittance of what you yourself normally charge to your customers, that is redistribution of wealth.

There you go again. Don't you get tired of all that squirming?

Every businessman knows, that wealth is not made through labor, but by the stroke of a pen.

Feel free to move to a less "communist" country, Bill, if you believe that our progressive tax policies are unfairly redistributing wealth from the rich to the poor. Oh wait - which countries don't have a progressive tax policy?

Adam Smith also came to the conclusion that the true source of wealth and value was labor. Very revealing that the founder of communism and one of the most famous capitalist's in history reach the same conclusion.

The problem with your comment shows you understand very little about what the United States is supposed to be. Of course this is why I mentioned the other day that "United States" is just a moniker now days anyway.

The United States was supposed to be a group of little individual "countries" mind you that came together under a United Cause/idealism. One that gave them a standing principle to live by (the constitution) yet made sure they could operate as their own individual nations so long as they didn't interfere with the operations of the other little nations.

In all reality, the "United States" as founded was a smaller version of the "United Nations."

So many don't understand history and don't understand that our founding and basis was based on people with different ideas, coming together for a common cause. The idea was that all 'people' could be represented in the "national" congress (the house) and that the states would be represented as well (the senate) and there would be one who would try and act neutral to decide if what the house/senate passed were good for the entire nation (the president).

Our tax system today is a complete slap in the face to what we are supposed to be as a "nation." The only thing the Federal Government should be worrying about is defense of our borders and issues related between the states. Instead we have an overbearing Federal government that has long overstepped its original authority all in the name of 'progressive' ideas, which are really regressive when you get down to the bottom of it, as they try and put all people as one, when not all people are as one.

The BEAUTY of the founding of this nation was that if you didn't like what was going on in Maryland, you could move to Virginia without prejudice and enjoy a different lifestyle away from the way that state ran things. Now since the Federal Government is so big, the differences in states is really small other than a few cost of living/taxation issues here and there. No matter where you can, you're still getting it up the butt from the Feds.

If you go by Bill's definition I guess he was

The guy who runs IT security at my workplace is nearing retirement and just came back from a visit to costa rica. He liked it and says he may just move there, if only he can get his wife to agree.

Thought about that place too. I had visions of retiring and opening up a night club/####### house. Getting married sorta made that dream disappear.
