Hey guys, I have a situation I need advice on...

My wife (in The Philippines) just received her IR-1 Visa interview letter with an appointment date, but our 2 kids (IR-2) have NOT received their letters. Is this normal? Our kids are I-864w exempt (born to a US Citizen, their father. They are 6 and 3 years of age, so what's the point of having an interview with them anyway???) as well. My question is... do we wait for our kids' interview letters to arrive (or do they even suppose to get their own interview letters) or can my wife go to her interview? I hope I'm not confusing anyone.

Break down:

Wife received her interview appointment letter (IR-1)

2 kids, I-864w exempt, aged 6 and 3 did not receive their interview appointment letters yet (IR-2)

Are my kids suppose to receive their own interview appointment letters?

Does my wife wait for our kids' appointment letters to arrive or go ahead and go to her interview date?

Hope someone can help! Thanks!

Did you report the birth of the kids to the embassy?

Do they have a US passport ?

Did you recive their SS#?

If you are a US citizen and reported the birth of the kids to the embassy theyy dont need anything they can come and go as they want.

as longer they have there us passport .

If im wrong somebody wii correct me .

if yer kids have USA passports, they not need visa. If you met the guidelines on citizenship , can file for CRBA at the Embassy, get their USA passports, no visa stuff required.

IF you filed, instead, I-130 petitions for the children, then somethings amiss. I'll have to assume that you paid the IV fees at NVC, and somethings amiss at NVC - so call NVC, get a Human, get a supervisor if first Human seems stupid, and suss this stuff out.

sorry, know nothing about I-864W exempt.

Hey Felo,

My kids are not yet US citizens. They were born in The Philippines, but are I-864w exempt, since their father is a US citizen, me. Once they arrive in the USA, they can file forms to become US citizens immediately. My wife, their mom, is a Philippine citizen.

I did not report their birth to the US Embassy, since at the time of their birth, I was still a US Permanent Resident. I became a US citizen in 2008.

They don't have a US passport, they only have a Philippine passport.

They do not have SS#

--had all 3 casefiles 'married together' at NVC

--paid the IV fee bills on the chillun

then

NVC will catch up with this, soonish.

NVC is best reachable after 10 PM EST.

Take a break, make some kopi-o, call after 10 PM EST.
