Sorry about the title... Couldn't help my self =))))

Anyway, I am like 90% ready to submit everything. I just have to get two things translated and I need to know the right way of doing it!

My girl's birth certificate (she emailed it to me) and airline tickets for our trip together while I was visiting her.

I know I have to use that phrase that it was it done properly and all that but do I have to go through a translation agency to get translated and certified or can I translate it and them have them certify it?

How does all that work?

If you are fluent in the language, then even you can certify it. If you want someone else to do it, you can.

Go to the RUB (Russia-Ukraine-Belarus) regional forum and contact Gary and Alla, who are everywhere on that forum. Alla does translations on the side and they charge a fair fee.

Sweet. I mean I speak fluent Russian and English so I just do the translation and certify it my self? How is the translation done? As do I just translate the words and write them down or what?

You do not need her birth certificate for the I-129f and you would not need the plane tickets for a trip you took together while visiting there. You only need to show evidence you were in her country to meet her. What you did with her (if anything) is not important. Not to say it would be a bad thing, but I wouldn't bother to translate the tickets.

To answer your question...

Anyone can translate. Simply add a statement to the translation...

I_______________ (name) certify that I am competent in the ________________ and English language and that this is a true and accurate translation of the _____________________ (name of document)

Translated from the original on ___________________ (date)

Signature of translator

Name of Translator

Address and phone number of translator

That's it, that's all.

Yep. See my post above for the "official" certification Alla uses. USCIS and the consulates in Moscow and Kiev have a lot of her translations on file.
