We are doing DCF in Montreal, my wife is American, I am Canadian. We do not have enough to do the Affidavit of Support for our selves, so my father in law is my co-sponsor. The question is do 2 Affidavit of Support need to be filled out, one by my wife and one by him. or is only one Affidavit of Support by the co-sponsor needed? I just need to know how it is supposed to work.

What is the appropriate form for the sponsor? Do they both fill out the same form? Just to note my wife has no income within the US currently, so my father in law is a full sponsor does this change anything?

Yes two, Petitioner your wife must provide one as primary sponsor even with low or no income, in-law in the states will be a Joint sponsor and not this on his I-864.

Another factor that comes up with DCF cases is US Domicile of petitioner/primary sponsor. Must provide evidence that a US Domicile was maintained as required by the affidavit of support. This too is a common topic. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/297218-proof-of-domicile

I'm sorry but this doesn't make sense. The joint sponsor doesn't fill out the I-864?

TWO I-864.

Your US Citizen spouse the petitioner MUST provide an I-864

And your spouse's parent (your In-Law) the Joint sponsor in the states also provides an I-864.
