 I noticed them too, but I still have the rainbow eyes for Casablanca. Compared to my hometown, it's freakin Shangri La over there

Did you notice them the first time you were there? I didn't notice any for at least the first four or five trips and then it was like they were everywhere I turned - especially in Tangier. I didn't notice as many in Casa. I still love Morocco and would LOVE to have a part time home there, but don't think living there full time is for me - much unlike my first impressions.

Just thought I should add my two cents worth. My husband is here with me and next week will be our two year anniversary and i couldnt be happier. My MENA man is a well rounded man who loves my kids and my animals. He is what I need in my man and that means from doing the kitchen or cutting the grass...he tries to take care of everything he can. He stands his ground if I want to vent and is a teddy bear when I need that too. He likes to plant trees or wash and fold the clothes. I hope all of you are happy the way your MENA man is no matter which group he falls into. It should only matter that he is the MAN you want him to be and who you feel in love with. MANY BLESSINGS AND MUCH LOVE FOR ALL YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS.....EVERYTHING WORTH HAVING IS WORTH WORKING FOR AND THAT GOES BOTH WAYS.

Life here can be a hard or easy transition depending on the couple for those of you who havent had that journey yet...patience you learned during the process will come in handy later. Again each couple will handle this different.

My hubby has male chromosomes and his mama (whom I adore) raised him well. I know he's got my back, he's clever, cool, kind, a quick learner and funny as all get out. And he cooks for me! He's a keeper. Thank you, God, every blessed day :)

I noticed them the first time. I have an eye for that kinda stuff- Baltimore is a major craphole and I was looking for similarities. And anyone else on here from Baltimore who wants to get on my case for saying Baltimore is a craphole can go walk down North Ave between Gay and Broadway. What's that? No takers? I thought so.

I seen this post from you and started LMAO!!! Ahmed and I do the same thing! Before leaving the flat we are in the mirror checking ourselves and checking each other. I will not call him a diva but he is definatley metrosexual! AND I LOVE IT!!! We both are very into looking good at all times, and making sure each other is looking good. We even check ourselves in the mirror in the elavator and in the lobby on our way out! LOL

As to my man being all man... YES YES YES HE IS... AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! There is no questioning our roles in our marriage we both know our roles. I LOVE IT!!! I can't say it enough I LOVE IT!!! I llove my husband and he is the perfect reflection to my perception and I am for him the same!!! WOOHOOO GOTTA LOVE IT!!! I do the cooking and household work and he is all business man and a shining star in his career, I support him and he supports me. Yes he is very jealous over me and I LOVE THAT!!! He comforts and cares for me like no one ever has, and I do the same for him. When he gets home he finds a beautiful wife smelling good and smiling and greeting him showing him how much he is loved and appreciated. Ohhh I know there will be negative comments to what I said, and there is so much more I could go on about forever, but you know what ITS MY LIFE and I finally have what I dreamed of all my life... A REAL MAN!!! Sure not everyone wants what I do, and that's ok by me... the most important thing is... I AM HAPPY AND MY LOVE IS HAPPY!!!!

Here is wishing you and your guy a wonderful life filled with love and joy!!!

I love this post. We are the same. What matters is that we are both happy.

Having spent no appreciable time in Baltimore, I have no idea what you're talking about. So I went running to Google Maps. That's a 1/2 mile stretch. Not much. But then I went and streetviewed it. All I have to say is I am so glad you didn't mention this before Boo Yah was banned.

BRAVO well said, BRAVO!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I find it extremely disappointing how certain people do act on this site. To you, I applaud your words and have much respect for you, I always do enjoy a good meeting of the minds, and I really like that you kept what you had to say very simple and ladylike, BRAVO, well done! Hopefully I am not being too forward in saying, I would be honored to call you friend, you are right, we do have something in common, actually quite a few somethings!

Amber

Well said.

I'm pretty sure BooYah bashed Baltimore before he left. He didn't miss much to bash.

I could have said walk from one end of North Ave to the other, but that's quite a walk.. So I picked the spot with an open sewer line that makes the air quite fragrant. This "Boo Yah" sounds like my kinda people. Anyone who's from here is cool with me. I love living here- it's a colorful city and the people are great. But, like DC, once you get out of the center of town, it's... interesting.

My sister recently moved to the eastern shore for work. Baltimore's the nearest city but she hates it so she just drives back up to Jersey for shopping

I think the honeymoonish stage was more like him wanting to help out with the dishes or laundry more often when he first came to the US. Fast forward past the honeymoon stage, forget doing dishes but once a month. He'll do laundry every now and then if he needs a pair of pants washed. He has taken upon himself to mow the lawn 2 times since we bought a lawn mower. He has filled in a hole in the drive way with cement. But with the stuff inside, I've learned not to count on him to get stuff done like the dishes or laundry. If he does it, its one less thing for me to do and I sooo appreciate it but if not I know I'll get a once in a month help out.

He told me when he we first got married that if I cooked for him every day he would do dishes every day. I sooo remind him that now that I dont cook for him everyday anymore. If he's going to slack off on his end of the deal, then all bets are off for a homecooked meal every single day.

On the other end of this, he's an awesome worker at his job. His managers always telling him and me how much he does and the paperwork on file proves it. He worked at my store for 3 weeks during Christmas and all the women just loved him and all the other managers in my store were talking about him even today.

We have a certain chinese restaurant that every single time we go to the door he goes to get it for me and says every single time, "Oh gosh, do I have to do this forever? Isnt 4yrs enough! -(with a huge smile on his face) and I say Forever Boo! But most of the time when we go out he takes a quick smoke break outside so I get to the door first and go in and wait on him bcz I hate cigarette smell.
