Okay, I'm assuming JohnSmith has watched it by now. Next time you're just going to have to keep out of this thread until you've watched it.

I'm happy with their choice to eliminate Ashton. I kept saying "Please don't give her the wild card. Please don't give her the wild card." I'm not quite sure what they really see in her. There were others who were eliminated who were far better.

Yeah, I watched it. The wife and I both work 2nd shift so we watch as soon as we get home. I am glad they didn't give the save to Ashton. When she sang her song last night you could tell she had given up. Any word on what happened to Casey? I saw he was at the movie but he wasn't at the video. Whatever it was must have came on quick. If he can't compete next week will that mean he is eliminated?

Ohhhh no. It says he has ulcerative colitis. My friend died from that last year. I hope he bounces back real soon.

My condolences

My brother has it too (he's only 17) and has recently finished several surgeries trying to get his under control. I think it would be very hard to be a performer without having it under control.

Awww. I'm sorry, Jenn. I hope your brother has great results with the surgeries. Definitely would be hard to be a performer under those circumstances. Such a shame.

Not surprised to see Ashthon go.

Little disappointed in Paul's performance. I don't know who his idol is, never heard of the artist. Still the same odd dance moves Glad he's still in it.

I voted for James again. It wasn't strong performance, but he showed us that he could appeal to non-hard rock lover too

Yes, but it wasn't as great a performance as he usually does. But that's due to the piece he chose rather than his illness. I was happy to see him back.

I think I have narrowed my top two to Casey and James Durbin. Jacob was a favourite but I didn't like what he did last night. So was Naima but she has strayed too far away from what I liked about her..... the bluesy stuff she did. Her last two performances were not that good. The judges were also right about Haley.... she needs to go back to what got her into the contest in the first place. She sounded much better then. Living in the same household, they're all coming down with colds, flu, etc. I hope they get over that soon. You can hear it affecting their voices.

I think Casey did a great job! He had the guts to do a Nirvana song and I give him big points for that. I also like James. Wow, is there a rock style that guy can't do?

I am starting to warm up to Thia. She has a very sweet voice. I hope that she tries something other than a ballad next time, if she makes it through of course. There is some real talent this year. I will stay away from this thread after 7 so I don't spoil the surprise when we watch the show after work. How many will be eliminated tonight?

There is a lot of talent this year - that's evidenced by the fact that everyone seems to have a different favorite, and sometimes it even changes week to week! I think Stefano was awesome last night. I voted for him and Pia again. I, too, was disappointed by Jacob. I am a big Heart fan, and I don't think he did that song justice at all. I'm starting to get annoyed by his voice as well. I think Karen or Paul will go tonight.

My wife would be so bummed if Paul left. She tells me she has a mad crush on him. She did say that Casey is a much better talent though. To that I agree.
