They need to have been started, and perhaps a second shot prior to visiting a US Cvil surgeon in the states. If you can get the DS-3025 compleated overseas, it is easier then dealing with some US Civil Surgeons in the states.

Age 18 - 64 are required to have:

  • MMR
  • Td
  • Variccella (AKA Chicken Pox)
  • The FLU if in season

Table of required vaccinations: http://www.cdc.gov/i...tions.html#tbl1

There are threads in the AOS forum warning you about some doctors that try to hit K-Visa holders for a full medical, it is not needed, only the vaccination record.

Again if can do it overseas and get a properly filled out DS-3025, to send is with AOS can be better. Many have indicated if DS-3025 is done and sent in with AOS, in most cases I-693 and visit to US Civil surgeon not needed.

even though it's not needed but do get vac for chickenpox by the US Consular. I was at a Civil Surgeon last wk and he asked for it. Luckily my wife did have a record of it.

So true about other civil surgs trying to rip you off by givin' unnecessary shots. My civil sug charged $20 for it, just to signed & sealed our record. Good luck.

Can get titer tested for MMR and Chicken pox, if shows sufficient immunity then probably will not be required for vaccinations to what is already immune to.

That's right, my wife was told to get the Varicella shot before the CS signed the I-693. So we were shopping around for the shot and it was quoted at up to $150. We waited for a couple weeks until I added my wife to my health insurance and got a blood test to confirm that she is immune and submit the result back to the CS and she signed the I-693 with no problem.

Call around for the CS too, mine only charged $25. Most insisted on the full medical and charged up to $200.

We got hit for a transcription fee as well as the fee for the vaccination that was outstanding. so ask about the total cost and shopping really pays off.. The local heath dept is an option for the vaccinations also... but most health departments wont do the required docs for immigrations as they usually dont have a CS there..
