well a Blue Slip for us. they request 10yrs residence from both of us (which we already have but the CO didn't look at it). They also want a time line (the CO also didn't look at this). Lastly they want me to write an affidavit about my ex. Information about her birth date, birthplace, current address, phone number and how she got to the States (who sponsored her). I just have to modify abit of my 10 yrs residence, and time line. but for the affidavit about my ex, i know her current address but we haven't contact each other and I don't have her phone number. Do I just address that in the affidavit? I'm going to try and get these documents done in the next few days so I can send them to my wife. Can she submit the documents by next week to the VN consulate? because on the blue slip they gave us til March 30. And after turning in the requested documents, and if it gets approve do they give the pink right away or they contact my wife to come and pick it up?

Wow..that sucks! Looks like the blue slip for 10 years residence and time line has been getting very common. Our interview is in two weeks we might as well expect this even though we already have everything. From what I've seen, if approved they will give you the pink slip but they will tell to come back later to pick up the visa.

Hi, is your ex also from VN? we have our interview in a few weeks and we have the docs below prepared. my only worry is my ex, although i did prepare a 10-year residence with her contact information.

Sorry to hear this.. But it is fairly common at HCMC consulate... The 10 year was recently discussued in another topic in the VN regional. Having her phone number will not make or break things... If you do not have children with the ex, they can't reasonably expect you to have that current info.

did they ask for proof of the ex's residence?

Just curious, were these documents brought to the intevriew by your SO, or were they included as part of a front loading effort?

If possible try to get something more recent proving your ex's address. If you're unable send the envelope (as well as a photocopy of it) along with a sworn affidavit from you stating that to the best of your knowledge your ex lives at : xx Main St. HerTown, HerState USA. I had to go the affidavit route as my ex wouldn't cooperate with an affidaivt and I did not have any recent mail from her.

Thanks Anh Map, i got a copy of a bill that is in her name and a different address from mine. i think my ex will cooperate but i'm afraid that the consulate will think that we still communicate.

It's ok to communicate with your ex. They want to see that your lives are separate and this isn't just something you are doing to help a person immigrate to the US.

AJ, keep us informed on your progress. So, are you still there or have your returned already? I can't remember when you were coming back.
