Hello all visajourney memebers,

i am new here,i've been reading this forum for while, found really useful informations.finally decided to sign up now.I am USC,and my wife is nepali citizen, she is living there. On Nov 10,2010, I recieved my NOA1 I130 and on Dec 2,2010 recieved NOA1 for I129f.I guess that is for K3,or IR1 as our marriage is less than 2 years. (L) Still waiting for NOA2.By the way,my service center is VSC,I guess the slowest one. I found many useful informations in this forum,so first of all i want to thank all of the users.

:ot2: Okay,as i said i'm waiting for my NOA2,while i wait i want to gather all the necessary information that can help me in next steps.I have few questions, please don't feel bored reading them or answering them. :help:

1)I864-125% of the poverty line, which will be around $18000,my current annual income is less than that.it's 16k.but i made above the poverty line last 3 yrs.so,my question is as i'm $2000 short on that.i have to do the ratio 3 to 1(spouse)? for example-$2000 multiplies by 3?is that the money i'm supposed to have in my bank?just to let you know i have about 20k in my saving account.will i be fine? or i have to get joint sponsor?

2)Can i prepare DS 230 form before i get my NOA2 and let my wife sign it and mailed it to me.Then,i hold on to it until NVC ask for it?She just signs part 1 on that, right?

I guess that's all for today. there might be more questions on the way. :bonk: .Thank you all in advance.any kind of help will be highly appreciated.

Solution 1: Ask your boss for a 1 dollar raise. That would equal a little more than 2000 dollars for a year.

Solution 2: Get a part time job. One day a week at minimum wage will put you over the 2000 dollars.

Solution 3: The 20k listed as assets should put you over the 18000.:star:

Answer to your question 2: Yes, she can sign it when ever. I had my Wife sign everything including a w-7 form needed for taxes when I visited her.

p.s.

You do know that you wont get a K-3, right? And if you haven't been married for more than 2 years then you will get a cr-1 visa. They will close your i-129f.

You show your cash job by reporting the income on your tax return as required by law.

As others have already stated, your savings will likely carry the day for you. However, a "cash paying job" that pays you more than $600 a year without providing a 1099 to you and the IRS is an "job" that's illegal. It's not illegal for YOU, provided you report the income but it is illegal for the person paying you. Be sure you're stating your current income as your gross pay, not pay after taxes are taken out. When you calculate it annually, be sure to do it correctly. If paid hourly and you work 40 hours a week, your gross hourly pay time 2080 is your annual income (40X52=2080)
