I called DoS and finally got confirmation that the consulate has received our paperwork and that they have already sent the P3 out. However they were unable to give me dates on these two actions.

You can email them scans of the DS230 and 2001 now.... Call back in a week to be sure they entered getting it in the system..

Thanks, I'll pass this on to my SO.

If she was in HCMC she can hand deliver it...

ScottThuy,

I told my fiance to do the same for the P3 paperwork. She scanned and emailed the DS2001 and DS230. Because even though NVC sent the petition to the HCMC on Feb 10, we still did not get the actual P3 from them.

I worry a little now because I know the local mail service in my fiance home town is terrible. I worry that she will not get the P4 in time to do the medical and that she may also miss the interview.

How can i get the interview date before I get P4 so my fiance go do the medical?

Sent the I-129F petition to USCIS on Aug 20, 2010

I-129F Approved!!! Feb 7, 2011

Returned P3 to Consulate Mar 7, 2011

Interview Date May 20, 2011

You can call DoS once a week until they have the information for when appointment letter was sent out. If appointment letter did not come within 2 week, assume it is lost and go directly to consulate to get a copy of it. Only then you can get the medical exam done. Our case we waited 3 weeks for the appointment letter still no mail.

Okay good to know. Do you have the phone number for DOS so I can call them later?

P3 arrived at my SO address today while she was at work. They did not leave it because the neighbor could not verify my SO's name. Consulate is telling her she cannot hand deliver to the consulate and she cannot enter the consulate. Attorney advised us to complete DS-156 and DS-156K along with the DS-230 (Part I) and DS-2001 and mail it to the consulate via Certified mail.

I have passed on all of the information to my SO that you all have advised here but in the end the consulate is being difficult about going down there in person. Emailing them is pretty useless. So, hope certified mail will do the job.

You don't need to include the DS-156 and DS-156K in the P3. Just email DS-230 Part I and DS-2001 and email and mail to HCMC. We recently did this and we had P4 in less than a month from the receipt of P3.

Ok. That makes sense to me. I think my attorney may not have understood clearly. Curious when do we do these DS-156 and DS-156K forms?

hey guys,

so cool i found this place. i see lots of people in same situation as me. anyways my so got the p.3 letter from hcm consulate on 3/7 and i fired off the ds-230i and ds-2001 as a pdf attachment and emailed it right out.

it's very therapeutic and calming to share your experience and know what's next to come. from the responses here i see there's no point in waiting for the return email acknowledging they received the 2 forms and i should go ahead and call the DOS 202 # every week for updates. i'm hoping for an april interview (which i will fly back for). wish us all the best luck possible.
