My finance is Jordanian and wants to travel here to the United States for a visit before we marry. We actually met while I was staying in Jordan in November and December of 2010. We fell in love there and have talked everyday on the internet webcam and texted eachother all the time. What can he do to be sure to get a travel visa. I know he should not tell them he has a fiance here. We are not sure where we will live after we do marry but he justs wants to come to see what America is like. This is understandable I think. I want him to meet my family and friends also. Many plans to make. Please if someone can tell me what we need to do I would appreciate it. Carole

Tell him to tell the truth.

All he can do is go and apply for a visa at the US embassy. There isn't anything that you can do to help.

I would say he was visiting his girlfriend. Fiancee may send up a flag that he is a risk to stay illegally. My SO referred to me as a fiancee, before we had applied for a K1, and he was returned on the same plane, fearing he was planning on staying on that trip. He never had problems saying girlfriend, nor have I going to England, but I have never said fiancee.

I would recommend him visiting, for sure. We chose to live here, for many personal reasons. I enjoy the UK, but don't think I could relocate there. He felt he could do so to here. It's good for your fiancee to know what he's getting himself in to.

Good luck, and congrats!

Young men from that part of the world can have trouble getting a visa to visit the US. He will need to show strong ties to home (job, property, family) at the interview.

He has a good job in Jordan and owns 2 homes and a car. All his family is there. I loved Jordan when I was there and was not ready to come home when I did. I only came back because it was Christmas time and my family would have died if I missed being with them. We as just scared to do anything because he thinks that if he applies for a visa they might turn him down and he won't be able to apply for another one for 6 months. We are desperate. I am to the point of leaving my country to go there to live. HELP someone please!!!

No time limit on reapplying for a visitor visa.

Just beware you are advising on here to lie to CO or POE - which is against the rules of this forum.

If they are legally engaged then her fiance needs to correctly represent that to the CO or POE wherever he is asked about it.

Boiler - I do believe some countries do have time limit, if you are turned down a B1/B2 twice withing certain period of time - then applicant has to wait for year or so before they can apply again.

If I am not wrong for India if your B1/B2 got rejected twice then have to wait for year or something dramatically changed in your situation before can apply again. - Not sure what is the time limit for Jordan.

omg. this is like the exact same thing that we are going through. However, Ali received his visitor's visa today so it is possible, and he told the 100% honest truth.

He is coming with his mom, dad, and little brother to move his brother into school here and to meet my family.

I told him i would kill him if he stretched the truth or lied and jeopardized our k1. :)
