Hey everyone,

I had a question about the USEM letter. How long does it take them to send those out once the embassy receives the case? Do they send those out to the beneficiary? And do they send out packet 3?

I also wanted to know what is the best way to find out if the case has been received by the embassy. I have called the NVC and they said that my case was sent on the 18, but when I tried calling the DOS, they said that they have not received my case yet. So I was wondering how to find out how long it takes for the case to reach the Philippines and if there is a way to see if it is entered in the system so that my fiance can set up her interview.

Anyone going through this or have gone through this? Any experiences and answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

did you recieve your MNL Case Number when you called NVC? IF yes, you can try calling the Embaasy IV Unit at 011-632-301-2000 ext 5184 or 5185, however they will be closed from March 4 to 8.

I had a question about the USEM letter. How long does it take them to send those out once the embassy receives the case?

It's a mystery to me. It could take a week, or it could take a month, or it could never arrive. Chinook never received her letter. We went ahead and made an appointment anyway.

Do they send those out to the beneficiary?

They are supposed to. It's been two years and we are still waiting for our letter.

And do they send out packet 3?

The letter the USEM sends to the beneficiary is packet 3.

If your case left the NVC on the 18th, it should be at the Embassy already. The Embassy might have entered it into their system already. If they have not entered it into their system yet, they will do it any day now. Once they enter your case into their system, you will be able to schedule an interview. You will need your MNL case number from the NVC.

You can check to see if your packet has arrived at the Embassy and has been entered into their system by simply asking them. Or, you could call the Embassy's call center and ask them. Or, your beneficiary could pay the visa fee and you could try to schedule the interview either online or through the call center.

Here's the letter the Embassy sends to the beneficiary which notifies the beneficiary that they are eligible to schedule an interview: click here.

Anyone going through this or have gone through this? Any experiences and answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Walang anuman. :)
