When I got my MD driver license issued for 5 years I thought I will not have to go back to DMV anytime soon. Well, as we moved to NJ I had to change my DL and guess what? Now my NJ driver license expires next year, 3 months after my conditional GC expires. So that means I have to go back again within a year no matter what to get my license renewed. :bonk:

I am sad to say that I think America has to be the slowest country ever. OMG your DDS system stinks and is so slow. Go to get drivers license and wait 3 friggin hours WTH? And then tell me that the papers I had there are all disposed of so fill out another form sheeeeesssh wait another 25 mins, then I do the pc test so easy I then wait another 45 mins for someone to finalise things. Other people were coming in for the pc test left us all waiting there OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the pc's are all lined up with no dividers between them. OMG  Then I can't do the road test cause I don't have the insurance papers on me WTH?????????????? The car is insured and registered what does that have to do with anything. We don't do this in Australia and we are a small island lol The systems here are so old and really need updating well they are here in Augusta. They so need to catch up with the bigger cities . What a ####### day sitting waiting for ####### all. Now I have to go back tomorrow for the road test and I have been driving 36 years oh Lord and been driving here the last 6 months and have driven since I got here in 2009. Crazy is all I can say crazy.:bonk::bonk::bonk:

Varies by state. I have never spent more than 30 minutes at the Vermont DMV including road tests for (now) three new, foreign drivers. Alla had her Vermont drivers license a full month before her Green card, less than three months after arriving and she could barely keep a car on the road when she arrived.

DMVs are notorious for this though. There is a whole genre of DMV jokes.
