Question as it relates to the K1 process:

As part of the supporting documentation for the I-134 Affidavit of Support, I requested a statement from my bank. My understanding of the instructions for the I-134 is that this statement needs to include the date the account was opened, the total amount deposited for the past year, and the present balance. However, the bank manager is telling me that they are unable to provide the total amount deposited for the last year, due to security restrictions.

If I provide copies of bank statement for the last year, will this be enough?

If your income qualifies then the bank info isn't needed.

So if we make well above the poverty line, the only thing they will need is the last years income tax return filed?

last 3 bank statements

last 3 years tax returns

employment letter

3 or 4 pay stubs

Bank statements are not required unless you're using assets to supplement income.

Tax returns (1-3 years, if available), a letter from your employer stating income and hours, and recent pay stubs (3-6 months) will be fine in most cases.

i was told that all those pay stubs are not necessary if your pay stubs show a year to date on them.

example if some one gets paid once a week then they will be submitting 36 pay stubs. i think that is a little much, when the year to date figure is on the stubs.

thank you & i welcome your feedback

People will tell you different things, just as various embassies require different documentation. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here.

Most paystubs I have ever received always showed YTD income, but I'd still bring a few of them anyway. Call it tangible proof for an inquiring CO wanting to physically touch what will determine getting a visa or not getting a visa - or call it plain overkill - there's probably not much harm including more (a few months worth) rather than less (a few weeks worth).
