  1. 1. Who do you want running this country if you had to pick from one of the following two groups of people?

    • A group of corporate executives from a range of industries - their only motive is profit, they all have college degrees and they have all traveled the world extensively.
    • A group of well meaning ppl who's only motive is public service. None of them have ever been to college or traveled internationally.

And since someone will ask - I'm not voting in this poll because I honestly don't know. I am attracted to both options.

This is like asking someone who they'd save from drowning, their spouse or their child.

Kinda.

I've been thinking and I am leaning towards the executives.

Lincoln never attended college, but he was book smart, and according to a recent study, many college graduates don't possess critical thinking skills.

Those tend to not rise to executive ranks. I put 'executive' in there for a reason, the process of getting there is quite selective. They tend to have a good balance of interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and book-smarts.

Would you like to be castrated and then stepped with a knife in both or your eyes, or would you rather have somebody scoop out both of your eyes with a spoon before castrating you?

Does it really matter?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
