I just got off the phone with the service center. After talking to the Tier I operator (who said September 30th to March 1st is not 5 months) I was passed to Immigration Officer. She says they sent and RFE on February 24th, but I have not received an email or SMS notification of it ... and nothing is in the mail. My online case status says it has not been touched since October 25th. So ... what should I believe? Will I be getting and RFE or not? I think I'm going to scream loud enough that they will hear me in California!

It's possible they are right and you are getting and RFE: the electronic notification system doesn't awlays work so some opel don't get an sms or e-mail, but have to wait for snail mail. Unfortunately, the system is not perfect in any way. I hope all goes well.

I agree. You still might get a RFE. If they sent it on feb 24th it should be arriving soon. I'd wait for a few days and if you don't get it, then maybe you can call again.

I sent an email to CSC asking for clarification, and 15 minutes later got an email and text saying they sent an RFE on 3/1. The wait continues :(

With all the knowledge gained from reading VJ while you waited and looking over the complete copy of the petition that you made at least 2 copies of, can you see where you will be getting the RFE? You ought to be able to determine in advance....unless USCIS lost something and just needs another copy. (That can happen.).

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

There's nothing obvious to me. The only thing I didn't include that I've had second thoughts about was a copy of my passport (entry / exit stamps), but at the time I prepared the petition I thought receipts for plane tickets would be suitable primary evidence. One thing I HAVE learned while I've been here is that until I get their letter ANYTHING is possible.

We heard the same - when we called at the end of December, we were told an RFE was issued to us December 20-something, but nothing had changed online or anything so we sent a service request etc, and a few days later, a new RFE was printed and issued dated January 5th. What a pain in the butt.

January 10, 2011 - RFE Hardcopy

January 13, 2011 - RFE Response acknowledged

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

April 5, 2011 - Medical
