The money goes where the power is expected to go. Hence, those in power are nothing but puppets to those that paved their way. That's the issue.

Ha. It's a Hindu symbol, too. There are prominent swastikas displayed in all Hindu temples and on Hindu wedding invites. I cringe a little when I get an envelope with an invite and there's a huge red swastika on the envelope cover. I wonder what the postal carrier thinks.

Just because they didn't win doesn't mean their money didn't influence or persuade voters. The real power of money in politics, IMO, is lobbying. You get enough politicians in your pockets and you're golden.

What's interesting is how close Bloomberg came to losing in the last mayoral election against a candidate who hardly did any campaigning at all. And that's after Bloomberg spent gazillions of dollars of his own money. People sense when you're trying to buy the election and they resent it. Money is a necessity but too much of it can be self-defeating.

In some respects, yes. Every career politician has had to play the game. You just hope that they didn't completely abandon their values to stay elected. Now, with the free flow of campaign money - it will come down to which politicians are willing to turn the most tricks.

We are all so indebted to you for helping us see the truth! I would have seen the strong similarities of the Koch brother's political tendencies and Nazi politics otherwise.
