Only one is needed. Some send in copies, some originals. I personally sent in an original cause it only costs a few dollars to get extras at our courthouse.

I dont see why you would need a translation of the non USC homecountry to validate your marriage. Hopefully someone from Italy can help you there.

Anytime you have documents that have to go to the US Gov't you will always need a translation of the foriegn document to English. If the document is in English then you dont need to have it translated.

Non-english documents relied upon for AOS need to be translated by a certified translator.

9/2/06 - Mailed I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131 to Chicago lockbox (via USPS Express Mail)

9/11/06 - ND for I-485, I-765 and I-131

9/13/06 - Checks cashed

9/14/06 - NOA1 for I-485, I-765 and I-131

You are on a K-1 and were married in the US so I assume the marriage certificate is in english.

BTW, you only need a regular photocopy of the marriage certificate per the I-485 instructions. Read the instructions.

kevinsu,

Point of clarification - translated yes, by a certified translator no. Any person literate in both languages can do the translation.

Yodrak

Non-english documents relied upon for AOS need to be translated by a certified translator.

LuckyStrike,

Ahhh...yes. She's asking if a translation is needed to "validate" the wedding in Italy. She's not asking about the USCIS.
