Scheduling Medical/paying

So I'm trying to be as prepared as possible for when my NOA2 comes (knock on wood), and I was wondering... if I call the NVC to get my LND case number, can I then call and pay on the London number and have my fiance schedule his medical, or do we have to wait until London actually recieves and logs the case? Also, do we have to wait to fill out packet 3, or can we just have everything ready and send it off as soon as we know that the packet 3 is in the mail from London?

Did those help? Basically, after you get the NOA2, you call NVC until you get the LND number (it takes ~1 week before they have it for you). You can schedule the medical as soon as you get this number, before London even receives your case. (Nigel called on Thursday to schedule his and got a Tuesday appt.) Then start calling DOS (202)-663-1225 to see if London has logged your case (yes, you call Washington DC to see what London is doing). As soon as your case is logged, you can mail in all the Packet 3 forms. You don't have to wait for them to send you anything. By the time you have your medical and they get the results and send them to the consulate, your case will be logged in. London is moving fast right now, so it will be smooth sailing after the NOA2! Good luck!

Oh, and I am not sure, but I think you have to wait until you have an interview appt to call and pay the fee on the 1.20/min line.

The documents and your condensed paragraph were a big help! Especially the google docs one, although a little concerned by the "not being born in the UK" paragraph- at lease I'm aware. Many many thanks!

FYI - as of Feb 2011 you can pay for the interview as soon as the case arrives in London. No need to wait for the interview date or even the medical.

One $$$ 'phone call instead of two.
