scheduling for interview appointment

Do i really need to wait for the appointment letter NVC will send me to schedule for my interview?

because i tried to schedule online but was rejected, saying i need to check my passport number or case type number.

im sure i didnt get my passport number wrong so is it possible the case type number is wrong?

USCIS: I-130

  • 06/28/2010 - Married
  • 09/08/2010 - Mailed I-130
  • 09/20/2010 - NOA1
  • 12/012010 - NOA2
  • 12/08/2010 - NOA2 hard copy received

NVC

  • 12/08/2010 - Case received by NVC
  • 12/09/2010 - Received NVC Case # and IIN
  • 12/21/2010 - AOS fee paid
  • 01/05/2010 - e-Mailed DS-3032
  • 01/11/2011 - NVC accepted DS-3032; IV bill invoiced
  • 01/14/2011 - IV bill marked PAID
  • 01/21/ 2011 - received RFE
  • 02/03/2011- sent RFE
  • 02/07/2011-NVC received sent RFE
  • 02/24/2011- reviewed papers
  • 02/25/2011- SIF
  • 02/25/2011- CC ! thankyou LORD
  • 03/02/2011- interview date scheduled on April 6, 2011
  • 03/7,8,9,10,11/2011- Medical, FOR SPUTUM!!!! Interview date CANCELLED! :(
  • 03/14/2011- sputum smear test- NEGATIVE
  • 05/06/2011- Immunization
  • 05/10/2011- Interview- Passed! :)
  • 05/16/2011- Visa Arrived
  • 05/19/2011- POE-LAX

For IR-I/ CR-1 visa , i think you need to wait for NVC to give you an interview appointment, thats what happened to mine. if it's fiance visa, then you can make an interview appointment once you get a letter from the US embassy in manila with instructions.

we have same problem..i already paid our application visa fee yesterday and tried to online sked but the password i entered was always invalid..(4 times)im pretty sure i entered the correct answer on all entries..though its only the password that has remarks on it..hope we can get an answer on all of this..thanks,God Bless.

For your password...

You have to have at least one capital letter, one small letter, one special character, if i am not mistaken its the upper case of the number which are @#$% etc. and one numerical.

For your password...

Below mentioned are the criteria for creating a strong password:

Password should be atleast 8 - 20 characters long.

Password should contain both upper case and lower case characters (a-z, A-Z).

Password should contain numbers (0-9).

Password should contain special characters (@, #, $, %, &, *)

A sample password for reference: Str0NgP@s$w0rD
