Hi I just wanted to get opinions from everyone, I have a 9 yr old daughter she is a very smart and sweet kid, she knows that we've been trying to fix all the paper works I need, today she asked me why I am asking the people we know to make a sworn statement, so I had to explain to her that this is one of the requirements and that the immigration wants to know that we are a real family and that me and my husband are in good faith, she said she wanted to it too she said she can tell about our family, she did make a letter and hand written it, it was really cute, I was wondering if this is allowed as she is a minor, is there a certain age who can only do sworn statement?

Moderator hat off:

I would say let her do it. It allows her to play a role in the immigration paperwork as well and helps her to feel a part of the family. It also shows that she cares about her new stepfather enough to want to help him stay with all of you. It won't hurt and it definitely might help. She isn't old enough to be able to make a sworn statement but she can certainly provide her own statement - and good for her  .

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
