I've gathered that Muslims generally believe this to be true, but Christians no.

Hello blessed Jenn, just some clarification below:

1) Some Protestant denominations do not believe that the God of Christianity is the same God of Islam.

2) Catholics do believe that their one God is also the one God of the Jews and Islam.

When I was getting my undergrad in religion from a Protestant University, they taught Point #1 above. This absolutely SHOCKED me as a Catholic, because I had never heard such teaching...and quite honestly I find it entirely wrong. The Pentateuch clearly outlines the creation of both Judiasm and Islam through the hands of the same God. This same God eventually incarnated as Jesus Christ...hence, all three of these great religions worship the One God.

Well, truthfully there is no God so all we're really talking about are the fevered hallucinations of various religious people. In that sense the Muslim God is the God Muslims have conjured up in their heads.

God is very much how you think Him to be, or not to be, and I suspect the afterlife will meet all expectations, or lack there of, as well. I suspect the Universe is full of such ironies.

Same reason why non-Muslim countries were living a dark age when Muslim countries were living in prosperity during inquisition times, or medieval to 18th century. Who founded the number 0, second degree equations, even algebra? What countries were living a cultural golden age before 18th century? Look for the answer and see why that changed. Maybe it's due to their lack of colonialist mentality,most of Muslim countries being exploited by other countries, could it be the reason? Please think before you post something. I don't belong to any religion but seriously think before trashing the forum or at least use Google. There are better arguments to refute religions.

Wasn't really hasty, though it may appear a little flippant. Perhaps there can be a centralized society of the Nation of Islam to issue ID cards that differentiate violent people from non-violent people, and rich from poor. With no identifying marks the general public is left to play a guessing game as to whether they will be killed or make a new friend.

There are good people and bad people in every religion, every ideology. If you hate the whole group because of that, that's called Hasty Generalization in social psychology. How many people Hitler killed? What are we going to do now, are we going to hate all Germans or Christians?
