Yeah, this state isn't the best place to live if you're the kind of person who worries about being income qualified on an affidavit of support.

Maybe they should move out to more affordable locations. You know, where the free market has determined the land to be cheapest, or least desired. Places like Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas, or South Dakota. Instead of paying $180 per square foot you pay $180 per acre*.

*1 acre = 43,560 sq. ft.

Lots do. There is a ton of domestic out-migration, mostly households below the 100K mark.

Ugh it is up to $3.19 here in the outback... That's a lot for WY. I only need to fill the Sienna up every 2 weeks or less, it is my mama car, but I have to drive around town for groceries, playgroups, doctor's visits, preschool and so on... There's nothing within walking distance here. Back home when I lived in Munich I sold my car since the subway took you everywhere fast, cheap and nearly all day long (night trains come less often) and supermarkets were within walking distance, so where my doctors, and so on...

But I don't want to complain, my parents back home pay A LOT MORE than any American. They pay 1.62 Euro per liter, which translates into $8.51 per gallon with the current exchange rate.... So I guess Americans are lucky with those super low gas/oil taxes in the 50 states...

i'm live in Yorkshire over the huge puddle. The latest rate for where I am is $8.55 per gallon which is shocking that also depends on exchange rate and how much petrol is on a specific day. Back on my trip in Jan I think my fiance(whose in Indiana) was paying just under $3 dollers a gallon gawd I wish it was that price here now I know it's expensive for you guys in the states but when explained we can on a bad day pay in excess of $9 a gallon our friends almost pooped themselves. I look forward to that day when I pay that much for petrol it's one of the few reason's I don't drive here cheaper to get a bus

we just got back from a road trip.. we drove up to San Francisco and then down the coast back to LA... anywho, between Big Sur and San Louis Obidspo we stopped to get gas but we saw that it was about $5.50 a gallon :o so we decided to wait for something cheaper.. luckily we weren't in desperate need of gas...

Some of those bodunk towns on the rural routes do try to soak you. I guess if you only get the occasional lost tourist running on fumes, you can charge that kind of price.

how often do you guys fill up your gas tanks?

I'm a courier, so I top off every day, sometimes I top it off twice. Average about $25-30 a day on gas. I work a second job on weekends to cover my gas for the week. These gas prices are brutal on me.
