Daisy16 and Jemmi...Did your interview letter say that your oath ceremony would be the same day? Or do they just spring that on you the day of? Just curious because my husband's interview is June 15 and was wondering if his oath would be the same day or not. Is there anyway to find out?

Also, not that it matters now, but for those of you who did early walk-ins for fingerprints...could anyone do that at any place? My husband went in on his appointment date but I'm wondering if he could have walked in earlier?

IR-1 Visa

8-14-2007 Mailed in husband's I-130 to Consulate in Toronto

8-15-2007 Toronto received I-130

8-27-2007 Toronto called to set up I-130 appointment

8-31-2007 Interview at Consulate Approved

9-25-2007 Received Packet 3 in mail

12-9-2007 Received police record (fingerprint version)

1-18-2008 Sent packet 3 back

2-26-2008 heard back from Montreal via email about our interview date

4-23-2008 Montreal Interview!!! Visa APPROVED!!

5-31-2008 Crossed the border into the US to live! :) (one of the happiest days!!)

Currently residing in NC and loving it!

03/2011 Looking into getting dh US citizenship (and just when I thought we were done with all the paperwork! Ha!

valera, No need to make an appointment to do the walk-in FP as long as you have your letter with you. I've never heard from anybody here on VJ that got turned away.

Congrats!! I will keep my fingers crossed to get some news soon. I took my fingerprints 14 days after you (4/20). I just hope to get my interview letter in at least two weeks from today :innocent:

daisylynn.....i read that a lot of people walk in early for the fingerprinting, so i just tried it because i was in the area anyway.they can't say more then NO to me. but they didnt even look at the date and time.i walked in 3 weeks early and i had my interview letter before my fingerpring appointment.

now for the oath on the same day as the appointment... i did a lot of reading on other people who had their interview in baltimore, and i would say that at least 90% had the interview and oath on the same day in baltimore. i also googled it, and it said that if your appointment is before 12 then you have the oath the same day. so i was pretty sure i would be sworn in the same day because my appointment was at 10. i also asked my IO when i was there and she said they do same day oath in baltimore unless you have a name change. hope this helped you a little.

I received a yellow letter requesting I bring my state issued driver's license or state issued photo identification card and all passports and travel documents (including expired and current) issues to me by any government.

I have not received an interview letter yet, but I will be taking these items with me. I had already planned to take my driver's license & current passport but in light of this letter I'll be taking my previous (expired) passport as well as it contains all my earlier H1-B visa's & DV (I was a lottery winner in 2006).

I have visa's from other countries in the expired passport as well (10 - 15 years ago I traveled a lot in Europe) -- will the IO be interested in any of these?

I received a yellow letter today asking to bring proof of selective service to my interview. Did any of you get such a letter. I got my interview letter over a week ago and it was the rugular green notice.

I ask this because I was under the impression the yellow letter was usually for oath. I don't even know if Milwaukee does same day oath or not.

add me guys.my priority date is march 7,2011.march 9,2011 check encashed.march 18,2011 recieved appointnment for fingerprinting.april 8,2011 FP done.april 25,2011 received appointnmet for interview. may 18,2011 interview done and recommended for approval.may 24,2011 at uscis website my status was updated to on que for oath ceremony.as of now,still waiting for the oath ceremony letter.

03/24 : SMS/email of receipt & Check Cashed.

03/28 : I-797C received.

04/07 : Received E-mail regarding FP Letter

04/29: Scheduled FP Date

04/14: Walk in FP

04/19: File Transferred to local office(San Bernardino Office)

04/29: Received Interview Letter

05/25: Interview & test Date

05/27 - Received Text-"Oath Scheduling Queue'
