While on the one hand I am very happy to see the recent approvals for many January filers, I am completely confused as to why this is happening! Why are January approvals happening now before we have finished with October, November and December folks?

In the last few weeks there has been 11 approvals at CSC for January and February filers that have been approved almost immediately (within 3 weeks) ... this seems way out of normal and is a little frustrating given that we are December filers and still waiting. I know from time to time there are the occasional out of sequence approvals that people explain by saying they are doing training and just pulled a random file, but this seems beyond that.

Does anyone want to offer plausible reasons as to what is going on?

There is no understanding USCIS sometimes.

For example, in my case our petition flew through VSC in under 3 days back in 2006, however this was because of a big SNAFU caused by the new IMBRA rules and the added IMBRA page on the I-129F petition, my petition had it, however ones file before me did not, so USCIS had to send out an IMBRA form for people to return, holding up a lot of petitions for months.

Anyway, I would highly recommend you Join and use: http://candleforlove.com for studying all you can on the Guangzhou consulate, that consulate tends to hand out denials to K-1 like candy to those who are not prepared.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I think this is a case where the CSC was getting too far behind. I think if you look at the interview posted on the K1 visa general facts, you have your answer. Current I-129f are already being ajudicated or looked. they have added more people to the task. Instead of pulling old cases from processors. they took new cases and spread to the new people assigned to work on the I-129 and I-130 forms. This way the ajuditcators can finish their backlog. This is not an out of order, but a means to help current cases which have been looked at to avoid transfer and reprocessing times. Now, if a worker has a high case load, some of the cases may be moved to another person which may case a delay. Many of the cases I have seen approved are current "hotspots" in the world. Philippines and egypt. Civil unrest in egpt, and the emergency action in southern philippines still going on plus the volcano erupting in central philippines. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/20/mount-bulusan-eruption_n_825787.html plus there have been numerous earthquakes throughout the southern Philippine region recently so Leonard Kniaseff may be getting ready to erupt as well. besides Mount Mayon showing activity. http://www.gmanews.tv/story/214187/phivolcs-9-rockfall-incidents-mudflow-recorded-at-bulusan

But I think it is the adding of personnel to get the backlog taken care of. Right now the centers are stating 5 months or less. If I was beyond 5 months (this is just me.) I would be calling to find out why i am beyond the 5 month period and asking for an expedite since they are starting 5 months or less.

Hmphh. I wish Vermont would start sending some backlogged cases to California for them to work on, or spreading out their workload. They are approving many at 6+ months these days at VSC. Sigh.

Also, my fiance is living in Mexico where drug wars are claiming more lives than the war in Iraq or Afghanistan :-( I am so afraid every time he walks out his door he is going to get caught in crossfire! I wish the service centers would take that into consideration...

Everyone on this board has hardships. We all have stories that would melt a caring person's heart. We all understand world events and have simpathy for those in need...

However, the only truly fair way to process these K1 apps is "first come, first serve". Anything else is not right and should not happen.

I for one, doubt there is any valid reason for these "early" approvals other than the whole system is haphazard and inherently broken. I do appreciate the attempts to explain, I just don't believe it.

my fiance is living in Mexico where drug wars are claiming more lives than the war in Iraq or Afghanistan :-( I am so afraid every time he walks out his door he is going to get caught in crossfire!
A lot depends on where he is. Don't sweat it too much, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
