Hi, last week i posted a thread on expedite criteria, and felt emboldened by the encouragement with most of the replies. He called military helpline last Friday and was given a number for his expedite request, and was told that our case will be reviewed and forwarded to VSC, and should USCIS need papers, he will be contacted. With that glimmer of hope, I logged in to USCIS site to check our case..whether there had been any updates since the last "touch"...sadly, there was none. :crying:

I then clicked "add a case to your portfolio" thinking that since he was given a different number, for a new request to be enclosed with our I-129F application; this was what i got:

"This form was not submitted because of the following error(s).

Please correct these error(s) and re-submit.

___________________________________________________

* The Application Receipt Number must start with three alphabetic characters."

May I ask anyone what we should do next? Shall we call custormer service or sign to infopass? Can we depend on the phone request he made? I really do not want to rely on what military helpline told my fiance, because the i-129F packet he requested months before never even reached his mailbox. We had to download and print the form from USCIS instead. I am not sure whether this is due to a faulty mail personnel or system in their installation or a simple lapse in military helpline for requests. 2 of his mails never arrived :(

i just heard from him today that they were not given any written orders for the training nor would be given any since he isn't an official, and would be busy these coming days in preparation for it. No advice whether there would be any means of communication nor any info on their training duration, but they will definitely not be given any week-end passes. They were told they will be sent to these trainings because the unit he belongs to is CONUS deployable.

My apologies for a lengthy post; I'll be out of the country for a short vacation and would only be back days before fiance departs for the exercises. Not sure whether we'll have time to talk decently for him to follow up our expedite request.

thanks very much for the help :)

YOu get the Receipt Number in your NOA1..

Receipt Number EACxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you for the reply dragonlover. We have already filed the original number/ receipt number for NOA1. fiance was given a new number for the expedite request when he called military helpline, which i tried to add in our portfolio in USCIS site. Since the new number was not recognized by the site, I'm basically wondering where to turn to in following up the expedite request made after we had mailed our I-129F.

Thanks again, and may you have a blessed journey!

The receipt number he received from the expedite is ONLY used when you call the expedite line again and talk to them. It is not recognized by the online system. They have up to 30 days to review your case and see if it qualifies for expedite and what you need to do after. There is no way to follow up online or the number is not valid with the normal customer service line.

FWIW, it took ours 3-4 days to get an approval for the expedite request. I got an approval by e-mail while I was in kuwait. Give it a couple of days and you will know if you got approved. Hopefully you guys provided a G-1145 to get updates by text and e-mail.

thank you very much for your replies! fiance received an e mail from USCIS asking for documents for the expedite request. He is given 20 days to submit them. He will be talking to his commanding officer, and hopefully get the recommendation letter before they depart for the training.

Yes Scott and Mhay, we provided a G-1145 in our application. May i ask what FWIW stands for please? LOl not too savvy with military or computer lingo. We'll be praying that we get somewhere what with their busy schedule these next 2 weeks. Hopefully, we'll be as lucky as you..3-4 days wow!

Will make an update once papers had been pushed. thanks again, and wishing you both a smooth sailing journey!

FWIW=For What It's Worth

Hmm the USCIS never asked for proof when I expedited our case. Probably because they could tell I was calling from Kuwait...They also asked me my deployed zip code. Anyway, good luck with your case. Hopefully you will get a fast approval.

LOL new acronym learned! yes perhaps thats it. u called overseas while fiance called from US installation citing the numerous, consecutive trainings they have to go thru in different states, w/o anything definite.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again and good luck in your journey!
