Does my fiancee needs to have round trip ticket when coming to USA or one way flight is also acceptable. Please let me know..thanks

Only reason i ask is because when i called travel agency one of them told me that it may be required to have round trip ticket because fiancee visa is not immigrant visa yet....

If she's just visiting then she'll need a return ticket to prove she is intending on leaving again. If you mean she's coming through her POE having been granted the K-1 then a one way ticket is ok but you'll probably find that the round trip ticket is cheaper anyway.

One way ticket is fine but if you get a return when she gets here make sure you cancel return flight. Funny my one way was cheaper than my return lol

Hello,

The one way ticket is possible because you will marry there within 3 months and she no need go back.If you will not marry then she will need go back of course and will need her round trip ticket :) The fee difference between round trip ticket and one way ticket is not so big and my Fiancé asked to get round trip ticket for if it will be cheaper, but Delta airlines told that the security is check very strong that the seat was empty on the way to fly to you and will be taken by person on back way, they checking strong and can cause problem.

Regards,

M&S forever

I wanna saw something abut this u should not take it as a red Flag for why she is not taking a round trip tickets? it's normal she is using a K1 visa which is non-Immigrant visa then it's allowing her to stay in U.S for a period of 3months maximum then it's enough to book another flight in case she will be back for any reason so getting a round trip Tickets is not the full Intention to show that she is not planing to stay there forever.take it easy and get the cheaper Ticket that's it,this is only my personal viewpoint but all is between ur hands for the final decision.Good Luck.:ot2:

I purchased round trip tickets for my fiancé, now husband because it was cheaper. He entered the US in September 2010 and we made his return flight for March 2011 because it was the cheapest we could find. We had no problems at all canceling the flight through United and actually have a discount on another flight if we purchase it before September 2011. Just make sure though that you do cancel the second return portion of the round trip ticket as it has caused problems for people adjusting status later on.

It took all of the previous messages to reach the heart of the matter. Base your decision (one-way or round-trip ticket) on cost, but if you buy the round-trip ticket, be sure to cancel the return for this exact reason above. Get something in writing (keep the Internet notice of cancellation, if there is one, or get the airline agent's name and location at minimum). Airlines have been known to goof by not adjusting the passenger manifest when the second half of a round-trip ticket is NOT used by the originally ticketed passenger and that seat is sold to someone else. This can make it look as though the original passenger left the U.S. You don't want your beneficiary to be falsely accused of this when it hasn't happened!

Also, it should go without saying, but it needs to be said over & over: Do NOT presume that the visa will be issued! Do NOT presume that it will be issued by a certain date! As is possible, make sure that any airline tickets are changeable without too much hassle or expense.
