My husband has his original birth certificate from KMC and it is already in english. Can we take this to the ministry of foreign affairs pakistan and have them create copies and attest they are true copies of the original? Otherwise we take a risk losing his original without other documentation on the safety side.

thanks

Well you wouldn't send or give any originals to anyone or anywhere as you need them but you can copy the birth certificate and then get it certified as a true copy of the original. I copied my own B/C and then got it notarised here

Hi, I am an original birth certificate from KMC and it has my parents names too. Can I get it notorise in UK or do you think it would be advicable to apply for a computerized version from Nadra in Pakistan. Are you aware of the cost and time period?

Just FYI..in Karachi, you do have to have the original to have a certified copy made..the person certifying it has to see it is original. At least that is the way it was at the foreign ministry office in karachi. Elsewhere it may be different but that is what we came across when we were certifying originals in his country.

Yes here in the states it is the same, I took the original and the copy I made and they notarised my copy as long as they saw a visual of the original. What I was saying was you would not give your original or send it on to anyone as that is yours but to copy it and then get a notary to witness the original and certify the copy is fine.
