Even if nothing can be done immediately, which I disagree, government intervention can soften the impact. As to whether such intervention is possible under the current political climate in Washington, I think it's possible.

Steven, we're long gone from anything being able to be done.

The only things that can be done to make it 'appear' like things are better are the same problems that got us into this mess to begin with.

Government action is exactly why we are on the brink of complete economic collapse. Bailouts, excess spending, huge defecits, etc...

Any action by the government that would blindly 'help' the people temporarily only adds to the problem as the only way to do that is to continue to devalue the currency even further.

You really cannot be this ignorant any more of the problems.

This isn't liberal/conservative mumbo jumbo, this is reality.

As I've said, this has been a LONG time coming. Remember, we've been in debt since WWII. Now take that into consideration to when you think the government was doing 'good.'
