This is what the email said guys:

"Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXX. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status. "

Thank you. I honestly thought I would have to wait till tomorrow but I am happily surprised. I am sure yours will come on Day 6 or Day 7 the latest.

Filed AOS at Chicago with the rest of you. Filed a petition last year at Vermont for the I-129F petition. Sorry- I really need to update my timeline and signature!. And I know I'm in the wrong section, but there isn't any action in the family based March group, so I hope it's alright!

I just knew March filers were going to be trouble.....

Is it possible you could build a list of timeline on your "signature?" This way everyone can see how you progressed and approximate responses from USCIS.

"Yep, all concurrent cases go to NBC. The packet will sit there a while, and NBC will approve the AP and EAD, and then send the file to your local office for interview. The speed depends on the volume at your local office. Good luck and glad you got them in!"

From what I've understood from USCIS, all applications (especially those that require interviews) go to the National Benefits Center first before they are redistributed to the field offices. The NBC does the preliminary checks for the applications before interviews are scheduled.

Thank you good sir. So, have you not received any notifications from USCIS, or your checks haven't been cashed yet ? Those are preliminaries before you get your NOA-1 I believe.

that certainly is a bummer not knowing the status of your petition. Do you at least know if your package has been confirmed delivered and picked up by an USCIS agent ?

I also think you should receive your I-797 receipt in the mail prior to NOA ? At least that's what the email sort of implied :/

And, you can always check your status once you have that Receipt Number which they also provided in the email but is not "active" until the time I get a hard copy of it.

I-797 is the NOA (i.e. Notice of Action).. You will get a separate one for each petition / application you've filed - for example, I have 4, since I filed I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765. Once you have the receipt number for each of your forms, you can also create an account on USCIS and set it up so you get email notifications each time there is something going on with your petitions.

I was thinking that it'll be nice to be able to not have any real rush with the GC application - but now I have a possible job offer (I am graduating in May and was not expecting to be offered a job this early), and I need that EAD! Excruciating. Let's hope March is a good month to file!

I had no idea about that til i read the comments on this thread. I think my lawyer filed that and he put it in his name email and cell number.
