Congratulations! Im glad that you were approved and this part of the journey is over for you. Not so fortunate for me :(

Thanks,

I was also wondering why it took us so long compared to others who applied around the same time as us.

But, this wait is finally over.

Good Luck with everything.

My interview was yesterday at 10 in Holtsville, NY and everything went well! We arrived there around 9:30 and went through the security. Then we checked in and they told us that we will be called. It was pretty busy over there, which was something surprising because it's in middle of nowhere! We waited for about an hour then the officer called our names. We followed her through the room and before we could even sit down, she started asking us questions like "how did you guys meet". it made us a little nervous at first. She didn't ask anything that is too weird, but asked questions like what's each other's phone numbers, where do we work, when did we meet each other's parents, whether the wedding was a small or a big one. We were relaxed and were just ourselves, answered the questions even joked around. We have submitted a few things like some photos, lease and a joint electricity bill. Later she said that we obviously knew what we were doing in our lives and she approved us and put the necessary stamps in my passport! The whole thing took like 15 minutes and it was much easier than I thought. Luckily the officer was very nice to us and didn't give us any hard time, and didn't separate us or anything. She said I will get my green card in about 6 weeks. 3 hours after the interview, my case got updated into Card/Document Production!

Our interview was this morning at 7:20 in Phoenix. We went in at 7 and waited around until about 8 before being called in by a very nice lady. She made us raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth. Then she told us that she had decided not to record our session and asked for id's and her passport, I-94 and EAD card. We handed her that stuff and she began by asking a few questions from the pack ie Have you been trained to use weapons, have you been a terrorist, have you ever entered the US with forged documents, etc... Then she asked my wife where we got married. My wife told her Safford, AZ and she then flipped through a couple of our photos and handed them back. She then asked me how we met and I told her at school in WA. Finally she asked me for my address and then asked my wife if she lived at the same one. I handed her a copy of our new lease and she handed it back and asked if we had other stuff in both our names. I handed her our electric bill and directv bill which she handed right back to us. Then she began printing out s sheet of paper and underlined a few things on it then stamped and signed it. Then she asked my wife if she wanted to keep her last name or take mine. My wife told her take my husbands so she made a correction on her paperwork and stamped the file approved. Then she explained that it was a conditional approval and that we needed to get her name changed on the rest of her stuff when her green card arrives in about 1 week. She also said that she isn't allowed to travel until the green card arrives and she has a new Vietnamese passport with her new last name in it. Then she walked us out and said "have a good day". All in all I think our interview went very well. It was over in about 10 minutes and they never took a shred of evidence. She made us feel comfortable and we both told stories of our families.

We had our Biometrics today. Piece of cake. It might be overkill but I made a general post for this subform "Biometrics-- what to expect" in the hopes it might help new filers: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/364378-biometrics-what-to-expect/

12/24/2010 I proposed. She accepted and stayed.

02/25/2011 Married!

03/19/2012 FINALLY submitted the AOS paperwork: I-130, I-485, I-765, etc.

03/23/2012 Received notification that USCIS has received everything.

03/26/2012 Biometrics Appointment Notice: April 23, 2012.

04/02/2012 NOA's received. Now we wait...

04/23/2012 Biometrics completed.

05/18/2012 EAD card mailed but not yet received.

06/06/2012 Rough interview but we think we're approved! Website says i485 status "Card Production".

06/12/2012 We received the "Welcome the United States" letters! Website says Green Card was mailed.

LIMBO: Green card lost in mail. Facing the possibility of paying hundreds in fees and basically repeating the entire process.

All good now! USPS lost it, then found it.

05/31/14 Mailed I-751 finally, with less than a week to deadline!
